The Nets will add Sam Mitchell to head coach Avery Johnson's staff, according to league sources.
Mitchell coached the Raptors from 2004-08 and was the NBA's Coach of the Year in 2007.
He was fired by Toronto 17 games into the 2008-09 season.
John Loyer, longtime Nets assistant Tom Barrise and former player Popeye Jones will also be on Johnson's staff. He will hire one more assistant.
