The Nets have announced that Tornike Shengelia will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee next Wednesday to repair damage to his meniscus.
The statement reads "Brooklyn Nets forward Tornike Shengelia will undergo surgery on Wednesday July 31 to repair a damaged meniscus in his left knee Nets General Manager Billy King announced today. A further medical update will be issued following surgery."
Worldsport Georgia first reported Wednesday that the Nets second year forward was unlikely to play for Georgia in FIBA Eurobasket because of a knee injury he suffered in "American camp" and may need knee surgery.
