the summer league is over and here are the stats from NetsDaily.com
just some thoughts about the summer league. i obviously didn't watch the game because they were not on tv, so these are just thoughts by looking at the stats. so i dont know if the player(s) played smart or not.
the guy that jumps out at me and looked to have a nice summer league was Kyle Davis. he by far had the most blocks and total rebounds. those are the two parts where we could use the help. we were horrible is rebounding last year and kenyon is our only shot blocker with a block here and there from train/twin combined. i've also read somewhere that when he does go for blocks he tends to foul frequently. im sure this is something he can learn to improve on.
i also liked the number of assists zoran had(19). it seems he is reading plays better and having control of the game. then there is the turnovers(11total,3.7tpg). i understand there were others who also had 10+to's in the 5games, but i still don't like to see high # of to's. i also understand that there is a lack of chemestry in summer leagues and that some of those to's were probably not his fault. same thing with veal, he's been in the league and has had more exp than zoran and he had 16 to's in the summer.
overall, we went 3-2 and it seemed that zoran played well (even thought he had a sprained ankel and sat out 2games), veal seemed to improve and be the high man and leading man as he should since he is obviously going to be a big part of our upcoming season. kyle davis seemed to be the standout player who will probably be given a contract to training camp and possibly onto our roster. if eddie doesn't work out, then davis could take his spot. still some questions regarding our roster for next season.
