Jason Kidd versus Baron Davis</div>
It is always interesting to watch two point guards, both of somewhat simular styles go at each other on both ends of the floor. Both play tremendous defense, both pass, and both pentrate. Although it will be almost equally interesing to watch Carter and Richardson compete, this match up should be more intense.

<u>Starters Comparison:</u>Golden State is big. They have big guards, and they have big guys who like to bang around. The Nets in someways are simular. Golden State's starters are one of the best rebounding groups in the league. The Nets have also been rebounding very well as of late. However, against, Golden State, it will should tougher.

<u>Bench Comparison:</u>The Warriors have two very good guards off of the bench: Fisher and Pietrus. The Nets have about equally as good guards off of the bench to match: McInnis and Planinic. The Nets are much deep when it concerns bigmen however. With Jackson, Robinson, and Padgett the Nets could take advangate of Golden State's Rookie Chris Taft, devopling sophomore Andris Biedrins, and Cheaney. Infact, Golden State does not play their bigmen off the bench as much and prefer to go with smaller lineups.

<font color=""Navy""><u>Keys to the Game for the Nets:</u></font>
1. Do not let Baron Davis drive the ball down thier own throats. This guy is explovise and Jason Kidd will have to do his best to not to relax for a moment with defending him.

2. Be able to contain Richardson. Hopefully Carter will be able to do a decent job on him.

3. Take advantage when Golden State goes small. When Golden State goes small the Nets need to go inside with no mercy.

<u><font color=""Green"">Keys to the Game for the Warriors:</font></u>
1. Do not let the Nets rebound the ball. One of the Nets' stregths are rebounding. If you take away this strength the Nets will have a much tougher time.

2. Try to force Jefferson to guard Richardson. If Carter can't stop Richardson, Jefferson will be put on him. This creates the size mistach of Dunleavy vs. Carter or Murphy vs. Carter.

3. Out-hustle the Nets.

<u>Prediction:</u>
The Nets are better than Golden State on paper. Golden State is also going to be playing on a back-to-back. The Nets are away. I think that the Nets will be able to pull this game of by 6 - 8 points.

Nets down by three at the half, 47-44...I think the biggest thing of the 1st half has to be Vince Carter leaving the court for the locker room with about 3 minutes left in the half. After hitting a deep three, Carter eventualy stumbled toward the Nets bench complaining to trainer Tim Walsh about his back...so we need to see how that works out in the 2nd half. And if he can continue.

Other then that I think we have played solid on the road, so far in the 1st half. Golden State is taking alot of quick jumpers..I guess that is their playing style. But I think that will create even more opportunity for us to run in the 2nd half..if we get out and contend them on the perimeter. Also in the 2nd half I would like to see us go thru Jefferson more...we did it at a high success rate mid 2nd quarter. And I think if we go back to it the trend of success of Jefferson against their small forwards can continue...facing up I dont think Dunlevy or any of their 3-men can keep him in front of them. And that can lead to some opportunities for others if Jefferson can keep breaking them down in the half court set.

Carter did not return. Certainly not a good thing. Not bad second half without Carter.

It was a good game for Krstic but just an upsetting loss. This seemed like a W for the Nets but I guess not

BTW, anyone have a report on Carter's condition? Is his injury serious?

Hello from a Warriors fan who got to see the game last night.

I love Jefferson and obviously Kidd (local boy.) Jefferson is unselfish and plays hard.

You found a couple of hidden gems in Kristic and Planicic. Kristic has nice hands, works hard to get position and a soft shot. Unfortunately, he bricked about 4 free throws.

Planicic has got a soft shot and not too slow.

The worst was how Kidd just seemed out of it. Is he hurt? He seemed to let McInnis play point most of the game and Kidd just got out of the way and spotted up for a couple of jumpers.

Too bad about Carter. On one hand I really wanted to see the high flyer but I wanted the win more. He's definitely special when he's on. He had a beautiful reverse lay-in in heavy traffic.

You guys did not really get anything out of the 4, Uncle Cliffy/Mark Jackson/Padgett, and with Carter out, there was McInnis and Planicic.

Lawrence Frank sucks, the man is just a bad coach. He's trying to turn us into a SA type team, but we don't have the players. I was able to watch the Nets yesterday for the first time, and our offense sucks. No motion, there's always 3 guys standing around on the perimeter, and somebody posting up. Krstic doesn't know how to pass, so we can't run a Princeton. Even the announcers were wondering why Frank tried to slow it down or call a time-out whenever we get out running. Kidd isn't being utilised out there, because he can't be a playmaker in a half-court isolation set out there. Basically, we're not using Kidd and Carter in the right ways, and you can see them both getting frustrated. The fact that we seem to never have a timeout available at crucial times is also bad. Bad management by Lawrence. One good thing is we were playing decent D at the beginning until GSW caught fire. Krstic and Cliff got into foul trouble, and because Collins was injured we had to go small and play zone, and thats where we got in trouble, because they were on fire. Fire Frank, he's doing a terrible job. I don't know why he was appointed in the first place, I'd way rather have a proven coach.

Wow, this is the first critisism I have heard about Frank. As must as I want to disagree, you make a lot of points which I simply can't argue against.
I personally am a very big fan of Frank and would very much like to see him succeed. I thought that the Nets played fairly well that game. Had Carter not strained his back, the Nets would have won the game.
If the season continues going at the pace that it is going right now, then I guess that your arguements against LF may become entirely justified (i.e. I might stop being a LF fan and accept your arguments).
