Buried fairly deep in the New York Times‘ story about a leaked tape that shows Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian foreign minister, describing a rivalry with a powerful and widely revered military leader, Qassim Suleimani:

Former Secretary of State John Kerry informed [Zarif] that Israel had attacked Iranian interests in Syria at least 200 times, to his astonishment, Mr. Zarif said.

Was it official U.S. policy to inform the Iranian government – most certainly not an ally – about the covert military actions of the Israeli government – most certainly an ally? Was this an Obama administration initiative designed to win over the Iranians by spilling the beans on the Israelis, or was this John Kerry freelancing and just blurting out whatever he had been told in his classified briefings?

Just what was the objective of telling the Iranian government this? (The Iranians probably suspected the Israelis in all 200 or so cases, anyway.)

Never liked him . Probably never will. If it is true, then he is despicable because Israel has been an ally chosen by Congress..

The entire Trump era was a giant media dick tease. I was waiting for Trump to get fried in the electric chair the whole time but all the big bombshell stories fizzled out and got swept under the rug due to lack of evidence.

That's certainly a colorful way to say that the jury was Trump's political party.

Also, I was referring to the reports that he frequently gave top secret information away in talks to diplomats/foreign leaders. I'm not alleging a crime here--the President has unilateral power to declassify any information he wants, whether or not he knows he's doing it--but it's a bit hilarious to me that a Trump supporter seems so aggrieved about Kerry mentioning that Israel carried out a number of strikes in Iran while never so much as saying a word about Trump giving away "previously classified" information.

And yes, I think Kerry was remiss in doing so.

That speaks volumes about the mendacity of the Democrats and their corrupt allies in the media. They kept making up stories and hoping something would stick, but of course it never did.
