It's being proposed in a few weeks in Vegas to Steve Wynn and some other casino owners, who may invest in it. Only a mile or so from the Strip, on the west side of the UNVL campus, and way closer to the casinos than Sam Byrd is right now.

Their hope is NFL exhibition games, huge concerts, and NCAA Final Fours. Should the NCAA get over their stupid rule on legal gambling and have a huge party in Vegas for a Final Four?

they're only going to build it for the tax writeoff.

Really? I'd love that, actually. You probably have more info on it than I do. I just know that every casino in Vegas near the Strip is being hit up for this thing.

Makes sense to me.

That'd be a good venue for the PAC-12 Championship game or the Natty.

Also, are there any sketches you can post of the proposed stadium?

Here's a link to it. It is BAD ASS!

A model of the UNLV Now stadium project is shown here at the Nevada System of Higher Education’s Board of Regents meeting on Friday, Jan. 11, 2013. UNLV and its private developer partners updated regents on the project, which now features a 100-yard-long video screen and six VIP suites seating 300 people.

The design looks awesome but getting those casino tycoons to chip in is going to be a struggle.

Rumour is the show they really want to host is the Superbowl. Without a team it seems like a stretch.
