Picked both these albums up yesterday, and I love them both. I was pleasantly surprised by the Crue CD. I bought it, not because I'm a huge fan of the band, but because of their single. Personally, I was never a huge fan of the Crue, though I love this album. Might make me cause to go back and get some of their older stuff, but yea, definitely love their new ablum.

As far as Shinedown, it's a bit different than Us and Them. It seems like it went a little more radio friendly, but it's still damn good. Through one listen, I didn't really find a song that wasn't worth listening to.

Lastly, I loved the new Offspring album. It's quite a bit different from their earlier stuff. It's a much more mature album, both musically and lyrically. Dexter really held off from writing his immature lyrics (i.e.....basically ever popular song by them), but I still love it. It's definitely more rock than punk this time around too. Though, there's still some signs of the old school Offspring sound on it - just take a listen to songs like Hammerhead and Trust in You. Regardless of them venturing somewhat away from their roots, it's still a great CD...it might just take a while for the diehard Offspring fan to like it. A friend of mine has been a huge fan of them since they came about and he HATES the CD. Apparently it's a sin for a band to mature and change their sound. Whatever though, pick it up, it's good.
