I’m a bit of a weirdo in that I don’t drink, and I’m all for those that have fun getting wasted. But fuck, get a hold of yourself and get someone sober to drive your ass home. You get in that car and killed someone, no matter how sorry you are afterward you’re not going to be able to bring back that person. That person is somebody’s loved one and friend. You just fucked up many people’s lives because of your selfish, stupid action that could've easily been avoided.

Somewhere I started a sobriety thread years ago....had my last drink years ago....as in my thread title...Sobriety Rocks! Only you end up driving your drunk friends around way too much as the designated driver.....I got hit by a drunk on the freeway on Xmas Eve in the 70s driving from Sac to SF on I80....the guy was going 130 in the slow lane...destroyed my music equipment, car and put 2 band members in the hospital....had just bought the car so insurance hadn't been transfered yet....yup...one stupid drunk can mess a bunch of people's lives up really quickly
 
Crazy Indian.

Crazy shit always goes down in warm springs and there’s only like 150 residents .

I have a crazy story about that place. Me and my family were staying at lake simtustus a few years back. Me and my cousins husband went into warm springs for more beer around the bend by the river at a little convenience.

we go inside for beer and pass this group of early 20’s natives. I come back out and one of them asks me for a few bucks. I say naw don’t have any money on me sorry. They were all kinds of shit faced and one of them says than give me your shoes. Trying to intimidate. Me and my big mouth having a decent buzz said fuck off. They circle my ass and all hell breaks loose. I got popped good right in the top of my cheek. I threw couple random ones at one of them. My cousins husband got in the car and said get the fuck in the car. I jumped in and we went back to the campsite. Next morning my hand hurt like son of bitch and my eye was super swollen. It healed pretty quick though.

moral of the story: Natives are fucking nuts. So don’t pop off to a group of them
 
Did OP not catch that we were already famous?

A .77 is reportedly the highest ever recorded BAC, surpassing the previous record of .72 set in 2007 by a woman ... also from Oregon.

I pointed it out in the thread.

Working in the wine industry, there were several convos around this story with employees and co-workers yesterday.... needless to say, most folks were scared, staggered and bewildered, yet fairly impressed.

One of my best friends in HS & College was 100% Apache and the nicest/funniest dude's you'd ever meet. He a hell of a football player and world class water skier/held many speed records. He like many people when he drank, he'd get smashed real easy and feisty. You didn't want to take him on just had to try and keep booze away. One day his father talked with me about alcohol and the effect it has on their people and asked that I watch over him. Well, he never developed a problem and eventually became a doctor working a a reservation in AZ.

Also, My wife and I go to Simtustus alot to fish. We stay at the fish camp up from Pelton Park, we've stayed there also. Its close and weather is usually good with super fishing, even if you have to purchase an Indian fish license.

Based on a BAC calculator I found, .77 is the equivalent of drinking 29 shots, or 34 (5%) beers, one hour before being pulled over. 29 shots is about 44 ounces.
