Matchups:
stephon_marbury.jpg
vs.
tyronn_lue.jpg

PG: Mr. Lue and Mr. Marbury are going head to head. They both have posses quickness to their steps. Lue has a pretty good jump shot, but other than that, I?m giving this match-up up to Marbury. I see Marbury?s strength and height being a problem for Lue. Marbury must use his 22-pound advantage wisely. Constant post ups should be used by him. Lue does have good defense?just not in the post simply because he can easily be out muscled by some of the stronger guards in the league. Marbury must play defense and need to shut down the little confidence that any of the Hawks have. Last time, he played none, and the Knicks almost lost the game. Defense even against anyone is important.

jamal_crawford.jpg
vs.
josh_childress.jpg

SG: A terrific all around player from the University of Stanford. He is a rookie and was selected as the 6th overall pick in the draft. He has long arms which makes him a good rebounder and shot blocker. He does have his hands full against Crawford and vice-versa. His height and jumpshot with his long arms can give Crawford trouble. He can also post up on Crawford as well. On the other hand, Crawford?s quickness and ball handling can give Childress some trouble. Who will get the better of the match-up?

tim_thomas.jpg
vs.
josh_smith.jpg

SF: The 2005 NBA Slam Dunk champion against a rejuvenated Tim Thomas. I look forward to seeing them going at it. Josh Smith the left handed SF from Atlanta has all the tools to be quite a player in the NBA?great leaping skills, long arms, a good shooter, solid defense and more. Now he just needs to find a way to expand on them. He has Timothy on him who is very strong and who is shooting over 40% from behind the arc. This should be a dramatic confrontation. Thomas definitely doesn?t want to get outplayed by a rookie. Whoever plays harder will win this match-up, plain and simple.

mike_sweetney.jpg
vs.
al_harrington.jpg

PF: Good match-up right here. Sweetney and Al Harrington are showing the futures of two franchises. Harrington a native of NJ just like TT, is looking to give Sweetney a hard time with his out of this world athleticism and range. Sweetney who is solid just like most Georgetown big men, will give Harrington a tough time with his great bulk and strength. I look forward to seeing a confrontation with some great post moves involved, and of course, with some great excitement.

kurt_thomas.jpg
vs.
obinna_ekezie.jpg

C: Uhh?Ekiezeki is a good rebounder and an athlete according to what I heard. I predict Kurt taking full advantage of this match-up and dominating on the glass as well on his limited offensive arsenal. Can?t really say much?I think Kurt will dominate.

Knicks Bench Summary
We need our bench to step up and take advantage of all of their opportunities and not allow the Hawks record fool them into playing a lackluster game. We need everyone to do their thing and I?m sure even everyone?s favorite?Bruno will get to play. I want to see more of his game and I think today will be a good time for him to show it.

Hawks Bench Summary:
The Hawks have some nice veterans off the bench like Tony Delk and Tom Gugliotta who have been playing very well for them. Hawks need to play extra hard and when they see someone not step up to them, they need to make them pay.

THE FUTURE
SWEETNEY
act_mike_sweetney.jpg
vs.
act_al_harrington.jpg
HARRINGTON
We will be seeing to young players who can still grow. Harrington is only 25 although he?s been in the league for awhile. Here we will be seeing how to play in the post, in different ways. Mark my words, Sweetney and Harrington will be a good matchup we?ll be watching.

My Prediction:
To put it simply, the Hawks have been struggling all season and after a disappointing loss at home to the Heat followed by a shouting session by Herb, I think the Knicks will come out well. I?m taking the Knicks 105-88 over the Hwaks.

party time, excellent!!!

Since the season is all but over, hopefully it's time for Sweetney and Ariza to get some extended minutes.

I get the feeling the Knicks are going to get upset by the Hawks. I dont know why but I think the Knicks are going to blow this one down the stretch and end their playoff hopes tonight.

Yeah, just like expected. Good game all around for everyone. I was about to do the post game and it was kind of long. My computer froze on me and sorry...I wasn't in the mood to start again. I'll let this one slide because we're playing the Hawks.

Yup, it was a good one. Crawford 10 dimes, Marbury scored well and efficiently, TT scored the ball great and had 5 dimes, Kurt Thomas had 14 rebounds, Sweetney 14 and 8 (only if he stayed out of trouble). Hopefully we'll bring the same intensity against Miami.

Looks like I was wrong. I feel silly right now. I forgot how bad the Hawks really were. We just killed them in the 4th quarter down the stretch that's all there is to it. I still wish we fed the low post more since there probably wasnt a player on that team who could hope to guard Sweetney but a win is a win and Sweetney played well so I'm happy.

Not a bad game. Not bad at all. We played solid basketball....for about 10 minutes. I was disgusted over the ease with which Atlanta seemed to get back into the game. I was amazed at how easily Collier was able to fight down low against our guys. Our defense tightened up in the end, but this is not something to cheer over. Tim was scoring nicely but all the while he did let the ball roll off his fingertips a couple of times. Overall, ok game. Still, a lottery team win.

Now, about that editiorial I was going to write about the Miami and Seattle games. I've decided to mix that material in my full-blown season recap. I have a lot to say about those games, but I feel as if it wouldn't make for a good read right after a win like against Atlanta this past night. I was writing it before the game starteed (right after the Miami game). But I never got a chance to finish as I got really sick and I am still recovering now.

About the 6,000+ posts. Let me just say how proud I am of the development of the Knicks forum. When I first got here a little after this time of year last year, this forum was nearly dead. I don't remember specifics but there probably wasn't over 2,000 posts or maybe not even 1,800. Now we have 6,000. I am so happy that with your help I/we have revived the Knicks forum. We are now one of the best forums on the site. I am so proud I can't even describe it.

Yea, I have to give props to H20, mrj18, KA, and jwohl for their efforts of bringing this board to 6,000+ posts. I just wish that some of the old members would still post here like STCball, knicks235, knicks and others.

Yeah, not too long ago I was looking at some old posts before I was around and I saw a couple of great posters. Too bad they don't post here anymore even though it's flourishing into one of the best forums in JBB!
