NOTE: The Yankees are 5 1/2 games out of a playoff spot.
NOTE: The New York Mets are 5 1/2 games out of a playoff spot.

Its pretty sad when the Yankees #s & standings are that closely associated with the Mets.

Yeah but the Steiny's didn't get raped by a guy named Madeoff.....

New York sports will suck right through the winter. The Rangers are the only hope.

And it's not too late for the Mets to finish with a better W-L record.
It pains me to say it but, you could see this coming a month ago as deGrom has now joined a fine young rotation and has been basically lights-out from the get-go. My gosh, with the young catcher now kinda coming into his own, and their bullpen getting a facelift with a couple of other good power arms.....this team is on the rise.
How many teams would love to have a rotation of Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Jonathan Niese and Zach Wheeler.
My goodness!

If this team ever gets it's hands on a big hitter or two- we could see them make the jump right into the N.L.C.S and/or World Series...and I mean it. Having 4 young (Niese isn't old) pitchers like that is scary. And don't forget Dillon Gee who has been one of the best pitchers in the league over the past year and a half.

Yes, if we look a bit closer, we might see the writing on the wall- The Mets arrow is pointing up, and the Yankee arrow is beginning to tilt downward......it's not too late to make a correction or two for next year and further.

If the Mets are willing to spend some cash on offense they're certainly in a good position moving forward. That being said it helps to be as bad as they have for so long.

Unfortunately, or however you see it, the Mets are moving
in the right direction. The Yankees are not. The future for both
teams looks pretty clear.
