<div class="quote_poster">Quoting GONYK:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Isiah's hands will be tied because Dolan has made it clear that he wants the playoffs this year. Until Dolan realizes that its these same sentiments that will hold Thomas back from taking chances, I think you will only see marginal improvements until Isiah can figure out how to get out of cap hell. I don't see rebuilding, but I do see him making a run for Tinsley.</div>
He's right. Isiah said as much during the press conference that the objective was to improve now. Even so, I don't see how they do it right away without a trade that benefits the Knicks.
Frank Williams may, and should get more minutes. Isiah likes point guards who can score (wonder why) and Williams has shown he can penetrate a bit and has some strength. Besides, they should evaluate him fully before trying to deal for a point guard. He might do well if given consistent minutes. I would hate for the Knicks to get someone else, give up on Williams, and later see him do well for another team. But hey, Dolan wants to win now with the lousy team he and Layden put together. I'd rather they play the lottery.
