NFL 'will play the black national anthem 'Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing' before the Star Spangled Banner at its 2021 season games'
  • The NFL plans to play 'Lift Ev'ry Voice And Sing,' traditionally referred to as the Black national anthem, will be performed before 'The Star-Spangled Banner,'
  • The song is expected to play during the season opener on Sept. 10, when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Houston Texans
  • Comes as the league hopes to demonstrate 'a genuine commitment to the public, players and coaches and that player voices continue to be heard,'
  • In June, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell admitted the league was wrong in how it approached NFL player protesting police brutality and systemic racism
  • 'We, the National Football League, condemn racism and the systematic oppression of black people,' Goodell said
  • Goodell released the video as a response to requests made by more than a dozen star players, quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes Deshaun Watson
  • The league also revealed plans to increase its social justice footprint by pledging to donate $250 million over a 10-year period, ESPN reports.

My wife is so nice that everyone she meets likes her immensely and tells me how lucky I am to which I respond with "I'm well aware of how lucky I am. And why she puts up with a mean old geezer like me, mystifies me. I can only attribute it to one of God's many miracles."
I can't imagine anyone punching my wife and if they did then they'd better start running and never stop because when I catch up with them there's gonna blood.

Well, don't go to Oakland.
 
I greatly prefer the National Anthem but I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. I also prefer the conservative version of the National Anthem which means I'm not a big fan of the Jimmy Hendrix version. Again, it's not worth making a big deal out of it.

San Francisco is bad too. Not as bad as Oakland, but for older asians should be really careful out there.
 
I think we should see how many select groups can come up with a national anthem and demand it be played before all games. It’s only fair.
