Not impressed with the top 30 this year. A lot of soft players with defensive questions. I would not be surprised to see the Rangers trade back or trade their draft pick in a trade. This draft was supposed to be strong, but it really flamed out.

I would think they might trade back. Try to pick up a second round next year that they gave up for Kane.

Drury has made decent selections in past drafts, I like the hiring of Housley. He was a great 2 way dman that can help the Rangers young core provided they listen.

Hope to see some good trades tonight.

Lol that was so bad. He did have the first name right so maybe it’s a language thing and unable to pronounce it

“Meghan’s best left available” had Danielson at 11th and he just got picked at 9. Meghan sucks.

Perrault is a very good pick here who will be playing at a good hockey school at BC. Broke auston matthews league scoring record this season and also his assist record. That being said wish Oliver could have lasted another 4 picks to us or drury somehow was able to trade up to get him. Now rangers off till round 3. Hopefully they find a center or 2 in last 5 picks. Not having a 2nd due to that abortion kane trade really hurts!

Don't know why Perrault dropped so far but Drury gets a guy ranked in the top 10 predraft who's heading to BC to develop.

Skating was an issue for him but last time I checked, Stone on Vegas was always considered a poor skater. Hockey IQ makes up for that. That and a coach who can actually implement a defensive system where you don't need a ton of speed to try and cover up stupid turnovers and positioning. I wasn't high on this draft but he was one of the players I thought was interesting. A right wing to boot. We were fortunate he fell to us.

It’s like they drafted a couple big defenseman in the third and fifth round

Drafted a 6’7 center. Had 53 points in junior last year. I’m surprised with his points production and size he lasted until the six round.

Fortescue looks like a solid prospect who should develop well with Perrault at BC.

Rangers put a priority on hockey sense and size it looked like.

Reading more about Perrault, his offensive skill is type 5 in this draft easy. Somewhere they showed a list of names who did similar things points wise in the league he did. The list of names was ridiculous. They are all NHL stars now. Hopefully, he polishes up his skating up a little and they teach him to play defense. More concerned about his defense. Skating is very overrated in the league right now. Stone sucks at skating and he's one of the best two way players in the league. You can find countless examples of NHL stars who weren't great skaters. Our team hockey sense wise is probably the dumbest team in the league. It's a problem. They are also pussies other than Trouba and Schneider. It seems the direction Drury is going in is to either get bigger players who are more physical and aren't stupid on the ice or to look for a player like Perrault who has elite hockey sense and world class offensive skills. Othmann probably will need AHL time. I would like to see Cuylle and Edstrom all season on our 4th line. I guess you could put Vesey there but I'd rather see Goodrow on that line as he could help the kids develop more.
