Im in favor. I also think it will help certain colleges in recruiting because of their expertise in marketing.

It's sure going to help UofO.

Sign with the Ducks, get an endorsement deal with Nike!

Now the local pizza parlor in a small rule town can pay to promote a HS player/Pizza special.

Im hoping it will help young athletes to be careful and protective of their image so they can profit form it. What a super incentive!

I think the athletes should have to choose between NIL and a scholarship. They want to bet on marketing themselves they should pay to play, they want a free education room and board and the school gets to market them.

I like that concept.

Thats great as it would open up scholarships to more marginal players. Great players might end up staying in college longer also if they dont need that NBA money.

Strongly disagree. School is still making more off of these kids than they're going to make marketing themselves. Let them get that $$.

Lets sponsor some random athlete. Like pay him $500 to give a shout out on an interview.

Pay two Portland State players, one woman and one man, $500 each to wear a t-shirt with this site’s name and URL, along with talk about this amazing Blazers fan site to classmates on those days and hand out flyers, twice a week in their classes for a month this fall. mid-October to Thanksgiving Break would be ideal. I’ll chip in if whoever runs this place thinks it’s a good idea. Would be a fun experiment at minimum to see if it attracts new users.

Crap. Sly does NOT deserve this attention!

Let's pay 2 dudes to kiss in school uniform.

I think any athlete getting a full ride should be required to stay in school until they get a 2 year degree minimum...one and done is unfair in my view compared with academic scholarships and the requirements to keep them ....my son got an academic scholarship to OSU and still had to get a part time job to pay rent, eat and buy books...we helped with the rent. He worked his ass off to get that scholarship

Wonder if my daughter will get some cash? How is it decided?

Every college will have someone in charge of NIL.

I was totally fine with all this until this morning. My twitter (which I barely use anymore) was tagged in the tweet below:

I have received about a thousand replies in the last 2 hours. I guess I am a sponsored student athlete now? Wtf?
