Olshey wants to trade it BADLY.

Our franchise player is getting toward the end of his contract. We were fortunate in last year's draft to come away with one homerun and one project in the lottery. We need to take a big step forward and we need to win now.

I think he is going to try to package Matthews and the #10 pick with another prospect or two (Barton, Freeland, Claver, if anyone's interested) for someone who can come in and be #2 to Lillard's and Aldridge's 1a and 1b.

I think we'll go the bargain basement route for a defensive center to platoon with Leonard. Jermaine or Collins come to mind.

perhaps, but that seems to me to potentially lead to another awful bench

I think he is going to trade the pick as well. I'm not sure what package he can get for it because I have to assume it would be a center as that is the big thing he has talked about and the big thing LA wants. The #10 and Mathews for Gortat/Dudley I wouldn't feel to bad about but i'd rather just do #10 for Gortat/Dudley lol

Yeah I'd rather not give up Matthews in that package. Dudley is a replacement level player.

How are we going to trade for Iggy when he opts out? Sign and trade deal? If so then I don't think that can be done at the draft.

He will bolster the bench with cheap free agent acquisitions.
It appeared to me that Olshey purposely stunk up our bench last season for the tank, not realizing how far Lillard was going to take us. I agree it shouldn't be too hard to improve the bench if he tries.

I like the way you think. No reason to draft another youngster when the pick and Wes can be packaged for an established player and still not kill cap space. I'll be disappointed if the pick isn't traded, actually. No need to draft a youngster when you can package the pick and Wes on a good contract to some team looking to unload a SG who can also create offense.

I'm psychic. And he basically told Jason Quick as much.

He could have told the truth but he also could have easily lied to Jason Quick. More often then not POR Brass tells Quick the opposite thing.

On purpose tanking was certainly part of it. But evaluating our five rookies was legitimately worthwhile.

Maybe we should get KG for our defensive center and try to win next year.

Why would Iguodala opt out of $16m next year?

He would be stupid to but rumors are he is going to do just that. He thinks he can opt out and still get a nice big contract.

Andre Iguodala is expected to opt out of the final season of his current contract, which is set to pay him $16 million in order to explore free agency.

Iguodala may not receive as much money on an annual basis, but would welcome the security of a long-term deal.

Iguodala will be one of the NBA's most coveted unrestricted free agents this offseason.

I really find it hard to believe that Iguodala would opt out of a contract that will pay him 15.9 MILLION DOLLARS next year. If he did, it would only be because he knew for certain that he would get a nice long contract that extends far past his useful NBA life and paid him around $10M per year.

Still want him? He's an upgrade over Matthews (although probably not in 3 point shooting) but is he THAT much of an upgrade?

if he wants to go to a team he clicks with or wants to play in a city like Atlanta or Houston that has cap space
