"I'm trying to win games, but I think the only way for DeAndre to get better is to play him," Hughes said. "It may hurt us theoretically a little bit for games, but I think the end result is it makes us better."

Hughes added that Jordan has a chance to become a dominant defender because of his lateral speed, quickness and strength.

"I don't even look at his offense," Hughes said. "I've told him before, 'You could be a Bill Russell type and make a career in this league making tons of money, but you have to focus on' " defense.

Now, I know Oden is hurt a lot. But Nate really needs to take a look at that quote and ask himself why he does not give more minutes to his young guys. Imagine how good Bayless would be right now if he got Russell Westbrook minutes.

so what you want is to focus on player development instead of winning games? cool. i want to see us win games. our days of sacrificing wins for development is over. sorry.

The Clips aren't making the playoffs. We are in the thick of the race.

Actually, we're at the very bottom of the race, presently.

Only if you consider Memphis, Houston, and New Orleans to be completely out of the race already.
