They have a bunch of PG's and need a SG. They also have Gorgui Dieng but are likely going to resign Pekovic.

We have several SG's on small contracts and cap space.

Sota sends Dieng and Ridnour
PDX sends their choice of Crabbe, Barton or Pavlovic.

They save about 3-4 mil and get a SG and get rid of one of the excess PG's. Blazers get a vet backup PG and a defensive minded center prospect.

Perhaps Blazers also send them a million bucks or a future second.

Could work, I guess, but I'm not really seeing the Blazers spending more of their cap space on another center project. I think that it's likely that they add a backup PG, but there are other options than dealing with the T-Wolves.

.... Didn't they just sing Budinger and Kevin Martin?

I doubt they deal Dieng. But maybe they'd be willing to send Chris Johnson back to us. I'd be OK with trading for Ridnour and Johnson, and perhaps Mickael Gelabale too. But I don't see them valuing any of our SG's enough to make that deal.

I keep forgetting Pavlovic is still on the team. There is our other SF whether we like it or not.

I think you need to sweeten the pot. I am not sure they would be interested in Pavlovic or Barton. I think Crabbe may draw interest though. But overall I would think Sota would want to hold on to Dieng.

I just like the idea of having a defensive specialist to groom to eventually be a back up center behind Meyers. Perhaps I'm getting ahead of myself and we have enough more pressing needs for now. With losing Withey in the wonderful Lopez trade, I was just seeing if I could figure a way to get Dieng, who I actually like more than Withey.

There just won't be time to play two young guys. Lopez is only 25, so it's not like he's an old fogey. The Lopez/Leonard center combo is actually pretty good, and I don't think we need to worry about adding more front court help. We need to focus on developing Robinson and Meyers.
