Nuclear Winter in Chernobyl

This is a very interesting "adventure" from a guy named Trey Ratcliff who visited the disaster site and took many photographs. I've always been interested in the Chernobyl disaster as it still affects thousands of people today. This blog "adventure" of Trey's has some of the best stuff I've seen and read about the disaster from this time. Spelling mistakes are present everywhere, but it shouldn't bother anyone even though I assume he tried to make it look professional.

Cool, I've always been fascinated by radioactivity and Tjernobyl ever since I first played Fallout.

Shouldnt this guy had been wearing a Radioactive suit or somthing? He's standing there with the counter reading levels of Radioactive activity with nothing more than street clothes. I'm not really a Science type guy, so maybe the levels are safe enough to walk about in like that, I dunno.

Did you read the story though? The guy writes about how dangerous certain areas are. Usually his Russian guide is telling him where to stay clear of.

I've never played Fallout, but there is a game focused on Chernobyl that recently came out. The title is S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and it received some solid ratings for PC.

Well, not to stray too off topic here, but Fallout, and especially Fallout 2, might be the best two games ever made. I'm dead serious (if someone is interested I could tell you more what it's about, either here or through PMs. But it's probably easiest to google it)
. I'll look into the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. thing.

We watched a video about the Chernobyl disaster in my 20th Century History class. It broke down the disaster minute by minute leading up to the actual explosion. It told the mistakes that people in the factory made. It was really interesting.

Yeah I read it, although it seems kind of stupid that they would be so concerned about the Radiation levels, yet they went in there without any protective clothing or gear what so ever...

I found that a bit weird myself, but I assumed that they weren't given any type of protective clothing since they actually weren't there to touch anything at all. I wouldn't go there without protective clothing though. The thing I found funny was that he wrote that people were actually looting apartment buildings. How dumb can people possibly be?

Not just regular looting either. They have stripped every building of copper wires, to sell it.
