I know, I know...kinda weird having a pre-game thread, but I was perusing the Denver rags and came upon this comment from a fan. Shoot, you'd think it was the Blazers he/she was talking about....in terms of "nobody considers us.....let's play our A game and show the world we're worthy...." type of talk. :)

From: Denver Post

Let's go nugs. Presure Roy and make him work hard tonight. We have to break the record and get the second seed. Everyone has to play their A games tonight. Please prove to us fan and those so call expert wrong because they don't give us any respect at all. Melo,Billups/JR./please step up and play your best tonight. Please don't lay an egg time to play with emotion and toughest. They already say that Portland will be the Lakers biggest test and nobody mention us but let's keep it quite and prove those expert wrong.
Go nugs.

You have to understand the Thuggets are an afterthought here in the Mile High. The Rockies are starting their season, the Avs just fired their GM and nothing compares to the Broncos here. That means the people who put the Nugs before the Broncos are considered weird.

People are talking more about the Broncos' schedule than they are about the Thuggets tonight against the Blazers.

Speaking of the Thuggets, the Kings owner got pissed off at K-Mart for his hard foul on Hawes the other night.

Maloof, speaking before an MRI revealed that Hawes had suffered a strained knee rather than a more serious injury, said Martin owed Hawes and his team an apology, according to the report.

"That was thuggery," Maloof said, "and you can quote me on that. Kenyon Martin wasn't trying to block the shot. He went right at Spencer when he was running full speed and at the [height] of his jump, when he was most vulnerable," according to the report.

"Completely unnecessary. The Nuggets might not want to hear this, but there was no excuse for that, and he [Martin] needs to apologize to Spencer and our organization. That just wasn't right," Maloof added, according to the Bee. When asked about the play, Martin shook his head and said it warranted a foul, not a flagrant 1, according to the report.

But I'm excited for tonight and finally knowing who we get to face and when we get to face them in the playoffs. This has been a long time coming.
