A sampling of the racial jokes:

• On Black History Month: “Michelle celebrates the full month. I celebrate half.”

• “My mother loved a black man,” but “she was not a Kardashian.”

• A picture was shown of Obama and the first lady when he took office. The impersonator then showed a picture of what the Obamas will look like when the president leaves office, and it was the characters of Fred Sanford and his sister-in-law, Ethel, from the show “Sanford and Son.”

Race wasn’t the only subject where the impersonator pushed the envelope.

• Of Tim Pawlenty’s decision not to criticize Mitt Romney at Monday’s debate: “[CNN’s] John King served him up a ball softer than Barney Frank’s backside.” (Frank is a gay member of Congress from Massachusetts.)

• Of Newt Gingrich’s approval ratings: Dropping “faster than Anthony Weiner’s pants in an AOL chat room.”

I wonder if the organizers had any idea of the jokes he would tell before he went up?

man, it's hard to tell what people are going to find offensive these days. those all seem so weak to me.

hahaha!

Hilarious!

Now that's funny right there! How could anyone be insulted by that joke?

Wow they crowd was really into it when they were making fun of Obama... but talk about the tide switching when he made fun of some rebublicans. Strangly familiar to the OT forum in some ways.

He wasn't funny or offensive.

Huh?

That's one of the most unintentionally hilarious moments in presidential history. "Watch me fly in my plane, and bow before my bulge!"

God that was awkward yet hilarious.

that is not hilarious at all

Some of jokes were lousy. A couple were uncalled for.

The GOP needs better material.

Yeah, that's my take too. I think some of the jokes were meant to be offensive (or rather, I'm sure the comedian would term it "challenging political correctness") but they were so limp that it's hard to actually care.

Oh boohoo. A Democrat got made fun of.

Plus, it's literally impossible for an Anthony Weiner joke to be limp.

Why are you upset a Democrat got made fun of? You hate Democrats!

I'm certainly not upset that "a Democrat" got made fun of. I'm upset that the jokes weren't good. I like comedy more cutting than "black people are like characters on Sanford & Son!"

The joke was that's how much they would age while in the WH. Like Bush going from barely any gray hair to a head of it. Same with Clinton.

Whoosh!

It wasn't even a racial joke. That's the funny part to me. Seeing you and others get all worked up about nothing.

Ohhhhh.

It's unfortunate that he happened, by unfortunate coincidence, to compare the Obamas to stereotypical black sitcom characters. It got in the way of that completely non-generic and extremely funny observation.

You are quite the cutting edge comedic expert!

He really should have just pointed out that Dubya looks like a chimp, and then smirk at the camera/audience.

Of course, he'd then be ripping of Jon Stewart's schtick, and that would be the story.

I wish someone would do that.

"Schtick" is yiddish for "penis", right?

Ed O.

That would be hacky too, I'm afraid.

Keep up your comedic writing ideas, though. Practice, practice, practice.

Not at all surprising that the same people who trust faux nuz to tell them the truth would find poorly delivered weenie and racist jokes humorous.

Nearly all quality comedy requires at least average intelligence, both to create it and to "get" it.

For the dull-witted, Reggie Brown will more than do.

They weren't necessarily funny (although the Weiner/AOL joke was funny..although outdated. AOL chatrooms is 1990's).

But if you're going to make a joke about "aging" (and that is giving the comedian the benefit of the doubt), why not go with a well respected aged black man? Like Morgan Freeman (ok, minus the pervo marry your step-granddaughter bit) or photoshop a lot of gray in their hair?

As for bringing up Jon Stewart, he makes fun of both sides (one more than the other. But they kind of invite it). This was someone with a pretty lame sense of humor trying to be funny.

A typical political crowd: Willing to laugh at the other side, but humorless about their own.

It would be funnier if it was really Obama.
