Papa John's CEO John Schnatter says that Obamacare will result in a $0.11 to $0.14 price increase per pizza, or $0.15 to $0.20 cents per order, Pizza Marketplace, a trade publication, reports.

their pizza sucks anyways

If it was Papa Murphy's I'd be concerned.

No no no. The Dems on this board have repeatedly ensured us that costs of healthcare will go down with Obamacare and that IF, by some crazy chance, healthcare costs go up, they won't be passed on to consumers.

Clearly another example of a greedy one-percenter offloading his civic financial responsibility on us common folk. Then he has to rub it in our faces by making half-court shots on TV, and also showing off his John Elway-esque arm.

I don't get Papa Murphy's. I only had it once, and it still tastes like your average frozen pizza, and it's the same price, if not more expensive. Big pizza chains and local pizzerias have giant pizza ovens that cook their pizzas way better than anyone's home oven can.

I think what they try to sell is freshness and hot pizza at home. Frozen pizzas are full of all kinds of chemicals that can't be good for you. I prefer pizzarias, but often the pizza is not hot by the time you get home and eat.

Papa Murphy's (and the like) serves a particualr niche in the pizza market. I opt for them every now and then

That's good stuff. Amazingly I have to spread rep around.

Papa Murphy's is not frozen.

They could eliminate the awful garlic butter container that nobody wants, problem solved.

That and the one little pepper they give you are the only reasons why I like their pizza.

I guess I'm that one guy who actually like the stuff.

If a company must increase its prices in order to adequately insure its employees, that proves that it wasn't doing so previously. Their now paying their fair share will lower the insurance risk, cost, and product prices of companies which already have been responsible, but have had to overpay for health insurance.

It's all in the marketing.

When you get the pizza home you peel back the cheese and toppings then sprinkle your good green bud shake on the crust and tomato paste. Place the cheese and toppings back on top of the KGB, sauce and crust then bake in oven.

Enjoy!

If Michelle had her way, pizza would be banned, altogether.

For the price, the pizza is actually pretty good. A lot better than Dominos and greasy Pizza Hut. But they give out a lot of pizzas too through their online point system.

I didn't know this board had so many Italians.

John Schnatter is a rightwing racist extremist who is spouting un-supportable nonsense to help his rightwing racist extremist buddy Mitt distract the voters from the real issue which is Mitt has not paid any income taxes for nearly ten years.

In addition to tasting like cardboard, his pizzas have killed more Americans than Al Qaeda.

No wonder the whole world hates America. They're jealous of our pizza.

You live in a town, Lapine, full of people that don't pay any income tax. You seem to like those types of people. You shouldn't be so harsh on Mitt.

I don't understand what this means.

The company very well might have been covering their employees extremely well. Government could still increase the costs by taxing the company more heavily to subsidize the individuals that don't work for that company.

hey if it takes a bunch of people to die to make my pizza 13 cents cheaper, so be it

Under Obamacare, the company, which is the third-largest pizza takeout and delivery chain in the United States, will have to offer health care coverage to more of its 16,500 total employees or pay a penalty to the government.
So basically they weren't giving healthcare to some employees, and now they will have to give it to more.

If these employees cared about being healthy they wouldn't be working for a pizza place.

Can you explain this subsidy? You say that employers who currently offer excellent insurance will pay for employees of currently irresponsible companies, which then won't have to pay for their own employees since the responsible ones will subsidize them? Does this mean that employees won't be forced by the law to buy insurance, which is a big conservative issue?

Wrong.

The cost of providing healthcare has gone up, in part, due to the pre-existing condition clause, which insurers are passing on to groups, and groups now have to pass on to consumers.
