Wisconsin Teen Gets 15 Years for Facebook Sex-Extortion Scam

A Wisconsin teenager was sentenced to 15 years in prison Wednesday for an extortion scheme that had him tricking male classmates into sending them nude photos of themselves, then blackmailing them with exposure if they didn’t have sex with him.

In 2008, defendant Anthony Stancl, who was 18 at the time, posed as a girl on Facebook and tricked more than 30 male classmates into sending him photos of themselves. According to court documents (.pdf), authorities found 300 photos of underage males on his computer as well as video of some of the victims exposing their genitals and masturbating; some of the victims were 15 years old.

The photos were stored in 40 folders on Stancl’s computer, each of which was named after a victim whose photos were in the folder. In one case, police found 24 pictures of a single victim. The scheme occurred for about a year from November 2007 to November 2008, when victims came forward.

At least seven of the victims said that Stancl, posing as a girl, threatened to post their nude pictures on the internet or send them to their friends unless they engaged in sexual activity with a male friend of “hers.” When the victims met with the male friend, who was Stancl, the perpetrator performed oral sex on the victims and took a photo of the activity with his cellphone.

One of the victims, who was 16 at the time, reported that after allowing Stancl to perform oral sex on him, the girl “Kayla” said it wasn’t enough and threatened to post the oral sex pictures online if the victim didn’t have anal sex with Stancl. After this occurred on two occasions, “Kayla” demanded the victim send her a nude photo of his brother as well. The victim then went to his parents, who contacted police.

Fucking shit. That's a little overkill, don't ya think?

**edit** just read they were minors.

What a moron.

So basically this guy acted like a girl, in order to give young boys blow jobs?

Why can't he be like your normal Wisconsin teenage boy who is curious about his sexuality, and fuck a cow?

Because cows can't email him pictures, so there's no way to blackmail them. Cows aren't even on Facebook.

barfo

That's true, most cows are still using myspace.

16 year old boys being "tricked" into anal sex by an 18 year old boy?

lol

So none of these pussies ever thought to bring a gun or a knife to the extorter's house? I know that sounds a little "BenDavis", but if somebody threatened me with the choice of public humiliation or rape, then I can't help but think that a little coercive 'creativity' should have been able to turn the tables. :dunno:

Under Reagan, sentences were increased enormously, and Clinton didn't reverse the trend. They are far, far longer in the US than in Europe for the same crimes. The shock of 15 days would have stopped him just as well as 15 years. But there is no lobby to influence prosecutors and politicians to keep sentences reasonable, and we know which side the haters in the media are on.

The guy is a sexual predator, 15 days in some city or county jail wouldn't do shit.

I may have overstated 15 months down to 15 days, but Europe thinks the US is living in medieval times. At any given time, about 7% of American men aged 16-45 are locked up. That's at least a hundred billion dollars per year that drags on our economy but not Europe's.

So you now are saying 15 months is an appropriate sentence?

While I agree that there are things that could be changed to make our criminal justice system better this is hardly the case to try and argue that.

This would be a better example, http://sportstwo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154879

I don't have an exact number, but I'm clearly saying that 15 years is insane. He was 18 and this is his first time. In Europe (and in the US of the past), you get 10 years for murder. But I understand that conservatives are always full of outrage over crimes (but never war crimes from their own country) while often claiming to follow the example of Jesus, so I don't expect to convert you to a compassionate attitude.

I remember in the TV program "The Untouchables" Elliot Ness says as he arrests the Mafia guy who has killed several people, "You'll get 20 years, Frankie!!" We the viewers were supposed to be astounded at the length of the sentence. This was before Reagan.

...and before mandatory minimums...

Whatever man, label me however you want. You first said 15 days. Then you corrected that to 15 months and I asked if you thought that was appropriate. I then said that I agree that there are problems and I suggested a different story that demonstrated that. So you respond to that by labeling me, claiming that I don't have a "compassionate attitude"?

I'll say it again, this case is not the best to use in making your point about excessive sentencing. This guy is a stone cold sexual predator. This isn't some case of someone who just fucked around a little. This is someone who hunted, deceived and manipulated multiple victims. This is about as bad is it gets.

I honestly don't know if he while be rehabilitated after 15yrs in prison. I'm not sure if any amount of time will fix him without some sort of therapy and rehabilitation. Even if he were in a mental hospital getting the best possible treatment I don't think your sentence of 15 months would be long enough to possible to return him to society. This is a really tough case. Bad example for your point. I know he's young but that almost makes it scarier. Predators get better with age.

And your Europe gives out only 10yrs for murder is not accurate.
