I love the fact Gortat things he has a rebound and Oden just steals it from him.

He's looking really good. Changing shots defensively.

hoop fam

He's playing really well, on both sides.

looks much skinnier.

Well this pains me. Not a hater and I get all those who wish him well, but it hurts me to see him producing on the court. I really thought he was the ticket to the Blazers being championship contenders for peroid of time.

The thing to watch out for isn't right now, but how his knees react tonight/tomorrow/the next day. If I remember correctly, he played a few minutes in the preseason and his knees had severe swelling.

Its a double edged sword for me. Happy for him but oh what could have been. With that said I extremely happy with where we are now.

Oden just played in his first NBA game since December 5, 2009, 1502 days ago.

I remember reading that. Same thing happened to Rose and Westbrook. I don't think the Heat will play him to much until the Playoffs, they just want to make sure he is in shape come that time.

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/08/10-things-that-have-happened-since-greg-oden-last-played-in-the-nba/

1. LeBron James made “The Decision,” advanced to the NBA Finals three times won two titles.

2. Kevin Durant (2nd overall pick in 2007, behind Oden) won three scoring titles and was named to the All-NBA first team four times.

3. Ohio State teammate Mike Conley helped lead a team to the playoffs.

4. David Stern announced his impending retirement.

5. Kyrie Irving graduated from high school, completed his entire college career, was drafted No.1, and made an NBA All-Star team.

6. Shaquille O’Neal went from the Cavaliers’ bench to the Celtics’ bench to TNT’s bench.

7. Jermaine O’Neal was overtaken as the Miami Heat’s highest paid player.

8. Only six centers have been taken in the top 5 of every NBA draft after 2007, none of whom have made an All-Star team or won the Rookie of the Year award.

9. Chris Andersen covered his entire body with tattoos.

10. Dwight Howard has alienated (at least) two separate fanbases.

Oden the only one on MIA with a positive +/- ... +9 in 5 minutes. /smallsamplesizeanalysis

Wow....that was a long time ago.

I've said it all along, and I'll say it again: He's gonna be a beast.

Well the Heat just traded Joel Anthony so you figure Oden is going to have to play. If he gets a ring with the Heat I'll break something for sure.

His PER must be off the charts...

You could get a ring with the Heat. I could get a ring with the Heat. The key will be whether he's a major contributing factor to the Heat getting a ring.

I still think, if he were healthy, he'd be a bigger factor in the league than Durant.

If he gets a ring, it might -- MIGHT -- be by beating us.

:sigh:

David Stern's final script.

He has looked good so far if he stays healthy and can play 20 minutes a night chalk up another title to Miami.

If he had stayed healthy, then yes, I think he would have been better than Durant. The guy was extremely formidable when he was healthy. The problem was that he was rarely healthy.

I don't know what the specific issue with each of their knees are, but just in terms of future impact and attitude (and not being covered in L*ker stench) I go with Greg.
