Oden Question

Do we get insurance for oden or something like that? Any of you basketball gurus can help me out. I went to bed last night thinking of the team then a thought of compensation for odens injury...Put y thoughts to rest do we get anything now hes hurt?

Yeah I'm pretty sure there's insurance coverage on him. The team will probably get an Injury Exception to use as well.

EDIT: The exception would be worth about $2.5M in Oden's case.

I believe injury exceptions go to teams who have a player who is out for the season, prior to Dec 1st. Greg was a few days late.

I'm unsure how injury insurance works, but I know teams have it.

I forgot about the cut off date. I think they can still apply for one, but it won't be available until next season.
