where posters can express their frustration on how stupid Chris Kreider is when it comes to using his all world talent.

Low hockey IQ, combined with inconsistent effort, combined with an inaccurate shot. Not a good mix.

Now when he is on and plays a game with that A effort and does his thing down low the guy can be a stud, the downside is it happens way too infrequently and only serves to tease you about what he can be.

He is the guy I am most frustrated with on the whole team...BY FAR. Staal is what he is. But CK has a load of talent yet doesn't bring it all the time and is invisible WAY too often. That is so darn frustrating.

He is due for a good game/games soon, but they will come and go and this Kreider will be back soon enough. What he does.

I've seen the story enough times. He is what he is. Most of the time he could be scratched and you would never know it. He adds nothing at all.

I've been back and forth on Kreider so many times. Ultimately, he is showing what I used to tell the morons on HF and OTG. If he was such a great prospect, why couldn't he dominate in college? His PPG averages in college were nothing to write home about.

What makes it worse is the quote from him after the end of last year, how he knew it was now his time to put it all together...how he was going to work his ass off this off season in order to take the next step...

Well that didnt work out to well...

Yep Al. AV needs to seriously scratch this assclown. I'm starting to think as dumb as Kreider is, he can only play on one kind of line. A big, bully line where his two line-mates are big, physical, mean forwards. Otherwise, he's mostly useless.

Kreider went overrated by Ranger fans for a long time even though his #s were never dominant, but he'd have a few games where he uses his amazing skills and everyone would jump on the bandwagon about how he's going to be a star.

The inconsistency was always there but i don't think anyone realized the mental midget he seems to be.

I could care less that he admitted he has sucked this season. How freaking stupid are you? With your insane speed and tremendous size, if you skated full out each game and drove the net, you would get close to 80 points a year. It's not hard to figure out you dumbass.

I think 20g is going to be the realistic avg for him, not 30 as was hoped. Which is ok i guess but seeing as the team is already strapped for pure offensive talent is a bit of a downer.

Kid is still 24. Yeah, lets get rid of this piece of shit that is big, skates like the wind, is physical, 20 plus goals a year and a proven playoff performer. Reason we can do this is we have a lot of these types of player on the team now and in the system below. ROTFLMAO. Everyone please take a chill pill.

This Kreider playoff thing is a little overblown as well. We don't score in the playoffs, so when a player scores a couple he seems like a stud. Kreider disappears just as much in the playoffs as he does in the regular season.

In 60 career playoff games Kreider has 18 goals and 31 points (and is a -7). Over an 82 game season that is 25 goals and 42 points. Certainly decent by playoff standards, but not sure that makes him a proven playoff performer.

He is inconsistent and has many games where he simply doesn't show up (regular season and playoffs). He admitted himself he has been terrible this season, so this isn't us being unfair to him.

With that said it is what it is. We aren't going to trade him. We are going to sink or swim with him this season. The only thing that might happen if he continues to suck is we won't sign him to a big deal this summer. Outside of that we simply need to hope he gets going because he will be here.

Again...CK, Hayes, Miller, Etem...we need these guys to get going otherwise we are going to struggle I believe.

No...if you agreed you would say what I just said...not the opposite of what I said mel...:).

Since nash is going now I'd like to see AV move krieds with brass and zucc and see if that gets him going.

I actually wouldn't mind a big line of Kreider/Hayes/Nash. Then have Miller/Brass/Zucc. Then Etem/Lindberg/Fast. And Moore/Stoll/Stalberg.

I want both my top lines to be threats, and without Stepan to me the best way to do that is separate Nash from Brass and Zucc.

But if you said Kreider/Brass/Zucc AND Miller/Hayes/Nash were the top 6...I would be good with that as well. Separates Nash from Brass and Zucc, which is how I would play the top 6 right now as mentioned.

Works for me

Outside of a relatively(compared to most other teams)low-skill offensive team, they still don't have that big time C, just a bunch of 2nd tier guys, which limits them some. If they could ever deal for E Staal and get PB over from Russia that could be a huge difference.

Kreider is far to freaking dumb to give any top line minutes to. Those days are over. He's a third line player and probably an average one.

The lines the Rangers are using at practice right now are
  • Chris Kreider, Oscar Lindberg, Rick Nash
  • Kevin Hayes, Derick Brassard, Mats Zuccarello
  • JT Miller, Dominic Moore, Jesper Fast
  • Tanner Glass, Jarret Stoll, Viktor Stalberg

I said it last year. Out GM needs to stupid proof our coach and either cut or trade that worthless piece of crap Tanner Glass.

Moore and Fast on the 3rd line...yeah.

Missing Step, and Etem being useless, and Miller being useless, and Kreider sucking has really hurt us upfront.

Glass in line up again next game. :curse::curse::curse:. Gorton has to save AV from himself again

Of course you could make the point with Buchnevich coming over next year, Kreider will be pushed down to the 4th line and the expectations for him will drop to that of a 3rd line player. 35 to 40 points. He still remains one of the few tools we have at forward that produces in the playoffs. Though, I think Lindberg is going to be one of those guys. He's always done that as a prospect in the playoffs. He raises his game.

That's because again, you don't do any research. If you look at the playoff production from players on every team, there probably aren't many players averaging 25 goals for 82 playoff games when playoff goals are far and few between unless you are on the Blackhawks. Over his last 31 games, Ovechkin would be averaging 25 goals in an 82 game schedule. After his early playoff years, he's been Kreider in the playoffs. Crosby over his last 38 playoffs games is averaging 28 goals over a projected 82 game schedule and less than a PPG.

Like I said...it is good by playoff standards...but I don't think it makes him this playoff stud or proven playoff performer. On this team where NO ONE scores in the playoffs, sure, but overall it is good playoff production not some stud or big time playoff production.

Either way it really doesn't matter though. The Rangers are not dealing him and giving up on a 24 year old player with his natural skills. They will sink or swim with him, and I get it.

I still say if they do look to improve upfront Miller might be the guy who goes before Kreider, but they would then be 100% saying it is cup this year or next year or we are f'd.

Long way to go before we need to decide which direction the team should go trade wise...win now or try and add some prospects/picks to retool for next year and beyond.

I can tell you this much though, with Hank getting older we are not going to punt for 3 or 4 years from now...worst case they see this year isn't coming together and they make a few moves 100% geared towards next season, but again that is a long way off.

But if we don't get some of the useless forwards going (Miller/Etem/Kreider/Hayes to a lesser extent), then we will be in trouble.

Etem will either be a throw in to a dl deal or just let go next summer, with the way he's going. Gropp will be the return from that deal. As for Kreider he's only hurting his wallet with this lack of production, but i don't see him being traded.

According to Chuck every year. All our players suck. All our prospects suck. Yet this team is built to win now and our GM should trade all our high picks. :smack:

Boyle probably would be in the top 4 for at least 10 NHL teams right now. He just isn't good enough on this roster to start over Girardi, Klein or McIlrath.

CK makes $2.6 this year, his ineffectiveness is hurting him in the pocketbook at contract talks. Figure he'll be resigned for $4 mil which I think is a bargain for a player with his skills. Why trade a young RFA with so much potential?
