Dang, that score just might end up becoming inverted.

21 - 7 Ducks @ Half.

Go Ducks!!!

For the love of god please never wear those carbon grey pants with green jerseys and white helmets again.

The Duck unis are getting ridiculous. I hate the white helmets.

Oh, and Masoli sucks. The guy carries the football like it's a hand bag.

It's not even the uniform designs - they look alright when they're wearing solid pieces or mixing up black/yellow, yellow/green, green/black, green/white etc. It's just when they wear carbon grey solid pants, with the green/black jersey tops that have patterns all over them, with the white helmet with the green O there is too much fucking stuff going on. It's like wearing a striped white shirt under a forest green sweater with beige colored khakis.

...yikes, squeeked out another close one!!! Go Pac-10!!!

LOL. 4 completed passes and we still beat #18 ranked Utah.

Hopefully Masoli gets better throughout the year like last year. Right now, he simply sucks ass.

Top 25 again, hopefully. Pac is tough this year, damn. USC, Cal, Washington, Oregon and Oregon State. Damn. Should be fun!

Go Ducks!

We may have to consider a change at QB.

Congrats to the Ducks.

In somewhat related news: it seems that during the Michigan/ND game, a Wolverine player punched a ND player. After the Michigan coach refused to take action, the Big 10 stepped in - and handed down a whole *1 game* suspension! I am begining to think that Blount got the shaft.

I agree with you that Blount got the shaft - I think a two or three game suspension would have been fine when you factor in the reaction he had to the crowd.

Did he get suspended by the team or the NCAA? I had read somewhere that there was an incident with him during the summer. If it was a team suspension, perhaps that other event was a contributing factor in the severity of the overall suspension? :dunno:

Yeah, but in my eyes it wasn't the punch, but the fact that he continue to freak out. He tried to go into the stands. He wouldn't calm down. Fights happen, but going after the fans after the fact was a complete lack of control.

Also, Masoli needs to go. The Ducks are running with a RB at quarterback and it's going to catch up with them.

Masoli would be real nice to use in random wild cat formations and in a running back rotation. I don't know if he has decent hands but he could probably line up at some WR as well.

I cringe every time he runs with the ball. It reminds me of that line from Any Given Sunday, where Al Pacino tells Jamie Foxx that he's holding the football like a bread basket.

Well yes there is that, but if he fixed the way he carries the ball he'd be good in that position IMO. It was scary watching him run the ball like that today, especially when he kept doing it despite the fumbles.

I haven't seen a QB so adverse to throwing the football since Eric Crouch.

Just got back in.. GREAT Crowd today! And boy is Allowalotti working to save his job. oh and LOL @ the people thinking we need a change at QB :D

What? There was a QB on the field today? I thought we ran the wildcat the entire afternoon?

In all seriousness Masoli is damaged goods right now, he has zero confidence in his ability to throw and Kelly made it sound like on the Post game show that Masoli has a VERY short leash. If Masoli struggles in the Cal game and we don't see any Costa, Nate's knee may not be as healthy as we thought.

He isn't a QB. So I guess you're right... we don't need a change. We need a quarterback.

Right because our running offense would be SO much better with Costa.. The D would have no idea if Costa could pull the ball back out on the zone read option, they wouldnt key in on the RB at all ;)

Kinda like Oregon was pretty much done for after the BSU game? or kinda like how Masoli was being booed by the home crowd last year as well?

What good is he if he can't throw the ball, or hang onto it when he actually runs?

Who was saying Oregon was done after the BSU game? Maybe Beaver fans did but none of the ducks I know thought that was the case.

As to your second comment....right now every aspect of the team appears to be improving with the exception of the QB. You do realize that he has the worst passing effiency rating in the NCAA, right? That's pretty bad. With how he finished the season last year and having an entire off season to work on his mechanics, it wasn't a large logical leap to except his decision making and passing to at least stay the same. In fact he has appeared to regress. This isn't a simple timing issue or the Oline not giving him enough time (which he had plently of today). He seemed to blow a fuse in the BSU game and the big question is how to fix it. If Oregon plays Cal like they did Utah, they lose by at least two touchdowns.

I am not saying Costa is the answer but, at this point you would be stupid to not consider your options. My guess is if Costa's knee is healthy, Masoli has the Cal game to prove that he can throw a forward pass.

What good is a spread option QB if no one has to worry about him keeping it? Then the DB's just sit back and dont have to worry, and put a LB on the RB and the D is set. Look I'm not saying Masoli hasnt struggled, he has, and has been out of sync. But his his accuracy I'm going to venture to guess, will get better a lot faster than Costa's running ability will. And Thomas just isnt ready. Masoli right now offers the Ducks the best chance of winning.

Right.. and before playing Fresno State, BSU only allowed an average of 4 points per game. So by this early season logic, they MUST have been the BEST Defense in the nation. Today is the first game where he was actually given time by the O-line, and they hardly passed (which is fine, if running is working) I agree that if they play the same against Cal, they lose by 14.

Fun factoid for this game (congrats to the Ducks, btw...)

QB stats From Team A: 6/21, 89 yds, 0 TD, 0 Int
QB stats from Team B: 4/16, 95 yds, 0 TD, 1 Int.

One was Navy's triple option QB in a loss on the road to Pitt. One was Masoli against Utah's D. You make the call!

Also on another note... We sat in Section 4 and of the Former players who were at the game.. Jaison Williams and Kwame Aygeyman were in our section... in the 2nd Qtr J-Will went to go walk to the Student section and he walked by one row below us, so I reached out to shake his hand and as he went to high five my wife he almost fell back down the steps, I reached out to catch him and he grabbed my hand, and looked at me and said "I am sooooooo F****** up right now" and then walked up the steps. It was kinda funny, but at the same time took the cool factor out of meeting him.

Your point absolutely no sense. I am not ommitting any games and it's not like he has an entire offense to learn which appeared to be his limiting factor last year. Why would Kelly call a pass play when Masoli can't complete a simple out rout? Bottom line is that our returning starting QB is looking worse than he did last year while every other aspect of the team is improving. Unfortunately that is the one position were a regression of this magnitude will kill your season. If Costa is healthy I think there is a good chance you see him if the offense continues to struggle during the Cal game.
