I think we started talking about this last year, but what's your early predictions for the All-Star team in the west?

I'm thinking starters will be:

Curry
Westbrook
KD
Kawhi
AD

Bench will probably be:

Harden
CP3
Dame
Cousins
Aldridge

With maybe
Daymond
Wiggins (if he keeps his scoring up)

Klay is playing like ass right now. 15.8 ppg, 2.7 assists, 3.2 rebounds, 8.8 PER. He is CLEARLY the guy that's not adapting well to having KD around.

Kobe is gone, so we don't have to worry about him.

Blake Griffin? So far he's averaging 18.8 and 10.6 with a 19.36 PER.

I feel bad for Mike Conley. He's a solid all around point guard. He's putting up 21.8 ppg, 6.6 assists, 23.5 PER.... but he's just not remarkable enough to make the team.

George Hill is another dude that has started out hot. 20 ppg, 4.3 assists, 24.5 PER.

There are so many good guards in the west right now.

Ironic post coming from the patience preacher. 6 games in. Way too early to judge anyone for the ASG.

Reserves are up to the coaches, and that's largely a matter of perception, unlike the popularity contest of the starters. Perception will be huge if Dame keeps up the improved defense and efficiency. There's not really anything to ding him for in that case.

They also count things like record. In reality, Klay Thompson shouldn't have made it over Dame last year, but their record was insane.

The record sealed the deal, but there was a lot of discussion as to whether Klay was the best SG in the league. Dame had to claw ahead of Paul, Westbrook, Curry, Irving, Lowry, and Wall for that sort of consideration. Granted, the PG position is several fold deeper than SG currently, but being the best (or close to) at your position counts for something.

Sorry man, cant like this, cause... if Dame even continues some what the same pace and he is snubbed, Im gonna break the world. Or die trying..or be found somewhere crying...

The game should be the 12 best players, flat out! Don't worry about positions! 9 guards and a couple forwards if thats how it ends up!

I think the All-NBA and All-Star dichotomy is lost on people. The All-Star game should be the 12 best players, regardless of position, and the All-NBA teams should be the best 15 players by position.
