I grew up in the South my entire life, and I used to hate country music, but now I dig it, because of my upbringing. I'd probably be the most unlikely person to embrace it, but the older I get, the more I appreciate it. The more I'm experiencing other cultures from around the country, the more I'm realizing the negative shared attitude that the rest of the country has against the southeast, which makes me embrace my upbringing more and understand why the people I grew up around listened to the music they did.

To be honest, I don't listen to much country, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.

Err, wait.

Some of the country stuff (instrumentally-wise), I've heard these days has been pretty darned impressive. Now, will I start listening to it on a regular basis? Probably not. It doesn't mean I don't appreciate musical talent when I see/hear it, though.

And for "it doesn't take talent" argument, I think hip-hop takes this easily. And I love hip-hop, especially from the mid-90's to early 2000's.

I am not a fan of country, but do you honestly believe what you're saying? I don't hear much auto tune in country music. Pop music has taken over as the ultimate musical sham. Auto tune, shit lyrics, and douchebag stars.
