Old threads revisited?

I have to believe that someone is bumping all of these very old threads for a reason, but I fail to see a benefit. Can someone explain why a 6 or 7 year old obummer misstep be so interesting, when all you need to do to find a more relevant fuck up is open almost any news page.

So, in short, why bother?

It's usually someone new to the board, full of energy, searching, like a deep researcher, by subject matter. Soon he settles into lazily reading only new posts like the rest of us.
