Older Actors Doing Commercials

Generally speaking, does that mean they're in their decline? I've always thought so.

I just saw Tommy Lee Jones doing a commercial and am going what the....?!!

There are fewer and fewer good roles for aging actors. So they keep themselves in the public eye via prostituting themselves in commercials and sometimes TV,

They get huge money due to their name recognition among baby-boomers, which the products are usually targeted to.
