i don't care if he's playing against great players - he is looking horrible and playing like the worst player on the floor. he can't dribble, is not aggressively going for rebounds, committing dumb fouls, and settling for fadeaways - the easiest shot in the game. i haven't been impressed by any of his recent games but he's really showing a knack for sucking now.

p.s. so many chinese players are getting posterized. hah.

he looks like crap out there missing shots cant post up playing horrible d

we traded jefferson for him? wtf i know people gonna bring up he it was salary cap move or summer of '10 but it looks like we staying in nj an i doubt anyone coming here anyway

horrible

Im not watching the game.. but that bad? Wow.

his teammates aren't really looking for him. It's been the Yao and Sun Yue show along with the Chinese "AI". Yi's shot isn't falling, he took about two bad shots but the rest of his shots were not bad ones and he's not trying to do too much. My one critique would be that he should try to get closer to the basket, basically just play more aggressively. He's defferring to his teammates too much.

As I say he needs to be more agressive he puts a putback right over melo and yells right after it. I hope we see more of that

He just had a monster put back, he's more athletic then i thought he was but he needs to bring it every play, he looks lazy at times.

not really a putback, more like misdirecting carmelo's arm to have carmelo accidentally tip it in.

even when yi rarely posts up, he's been turning those into fadeaways.

looks like yi definitely needs to get stronger - he's getting bullied down there and that's maybe why he's settling for fadeaways. from what i'm seeing now though, i'm not sure i'll feel at ease with him starting for us.

this dude is playing like a clown. they sat him just now for wang zhizhi!

nets did this just to sell tickets they just wont admit it.

you can kind of tell yao even wants to tell him he blows.

from watching this game so far, Sun Yue looks like a steal, 6' 9'' guard is handling the USA pressure well and not giving up his dribble, also has hit a few threes and blocked Dwight at the rim. Also Chen jianghua has potential to get into the NBA. He has nba quickness but needs to be more disciplined, he's got the skills though.

on another note, the US looks beatable, They're up by almost 20, but they've shot horribly from downtown and its not like the chinese guards are playing great defense either. i can't wait for the spain game. I can see outside shooting be a problem when they play against more mobile guards.

rofl wtf was that? so weak and he trys to foul after he misses

god this guy is garbage

carter its just one game, there's a lot of pressure on him and he's not playing within himself. I expect him to play better as the in the coming games.

we'll see I guess but right now he has shown NOTHING!

wow he just caught fire after that 3 point play, fast break dunk, post up fade away. not too shabby

Yi will not create shots for himself or others, but if Devin and VC create it for him he will finish the open dunks and jumpshots, and he will defend PFs well.
He is better than Sean

well he's playing better in garbage time that doesn't impress me. what does impress me is the skills he has, his versatility is pretty impressive, he can fade with ease in the lane, he has great athletic ability, and has shown a lot of promise as a big running the break. with devin and vince I can see him getting dunk after dunk on the break.

the problem with this kid is glaring now...he has no balls!

no courage and heart.

he is playing now that there is no pressure and the game is over. plus US stopped playing D.

he better cut that crap out b4 he takes the floor for NJ!

GREATEST OF ALL TIME</div>

My brain hurts.

yeah, but it's almost like he coast after a couple minutes of great play...as if to say that "I've done enough for the time being, now I'll take a break." He has the talent but not the passion

totally agree fefe, he is a PF there is no question. after watching several of his games it looks like that is definitely his position and he's got all the skills as a finisher. He just needs to get stronger. I also feel that he as much potential as sean on defense and as of now he is more disciplined on defense as well. Vince and Devin creating for Yi will definitely allow him to grow.

Yi in this game didn't impress me one bit.
Yi is clearly a pf with a drik/chris bosh type of style
His ball handeling isn't great, shot selection is iffy
Speedwise, he needs to be a little more explosive
I can't wait to see Sean go up against Yi in practice

Is this sarcasm? You're saying 2004 USA team is better?
