I haven't really followed hockey since the Winter Hawks won the Cup in 1983, but I was invited by a lawyer friend of mine last night to use one of his firm's 4 suite-level seats. It wasn't a "suite" per se, but more an open area where there's free food, drinks, people milling around, and some game action going on in the background.

Anyway, it was me, my lawyer buddy, one of his air force lawyer buddies and a dentist he goes to church with. We're all in "professional casual" attire, except for the dentist, who's born and bred in Tampa and wearing a vintage Brian Bradley jersey he got in 1993 or something as a young teenager. Now, I don't know a ton about the Tampa Bay Lightning other than Steven Stamkos is a stud and Ben Bishop was the goalie that helped them win the Cup and just got traded, so I politely asked about the jersey, got the story and let it go.
Fast forward to the 2nd period, we're sitting there at one of the rails drinking beers and watching the game, and the dentist gets a tap on his shoulder "Excuse me..." and sees a guy in what looks like a Football Hall of Fame jacket and with an usher right there. We thought we were in someone's assigned area or something. The guy points to the dentist's jersey and says "I'm Brian Bradley, and I'm flattered than anyone even still has a jersey of mine, if they ever did." He gets the story of the jersey and says something like "can I get a picture? My kid won't believe this." Of course the dentist is floored (I imagine it's similar to if someone like Mo Lucas did this at a Blazer game) and they start taking photos and stuff. Bradley then says, "You want me to sign it or anything?" and signs the back of the jersey, right there on the spot. After a couple more handshakes and small talk they take off.
The dentist's take? "Man, now I can't wash this, can I?"
