is mid 90's Art Bell.

I would love to hear what his take is on this whole year would be.

(this only is on my brain because I'm listening to Dancing Queen, which was one of his bumper music songs)

I loved the Phil Hendrie bits where he's doing Art Bell. I can be in the worst mood, but the second I hear him doing his Art Bell impersonation, I lose it.

I have no idea who that is.

Right now this is all I can find.

he does one where Phil, as Art, impersonates Phil, but as Art. And Art plays all 3 characters in one skit and completely loses track of which character he's doing (they all have the same art bell voice).

Phils whole shtick was that he'd play the characters of a radio show..the hosts, the callers, everything.

Does he have his own radio show or something?

He used to (he might do a podcast now). He used to do "shtickerooskie", but then tried more political based, and then went away for a bit, and then tried a comeback. But I think it became a case of "out of sight out of mind" and time passing him by.

@julius - you have great taste in radio! Not only was mid-90s ArtBell the MVP, Phil Hendrie, especially before one caught onto the shtick, was the most entertaining, funniest radio ever. He played every character, so they were all outrageous, but if you didn't know, you thought this guy got the greatest guests ever. Ted's of Beverly Hills? Bobbie Dooley? OMG!

I used to listen to both those guys back in the day. After college I worked as an editor nights! They used to keep me awake...... John & Jeff as well!!!

I also liked his sponsor for the Art Bell bits.

"New, from Peenman"

I have a bunch of the Art Bell interviews with Michio Kaku if anyone wants them. Those were awesome! No crackhead stuff, just great science and Bell was smart enough to keep up. George Noory is just not the interviewer that Art was. It really shows on guests like Kaku.

C Crane radio?

Art Bell was a spokesman for them. Used to talk about their emergency radios all the time.

So I finally bought one, lol.

https://ccrane.com/

The one I got was like a combo of these two:

https://ccrane.com/orphan-cc-skywav...-and-vhf-airband-small-portable-travel-radio/

https://ccrane.com/orphan-cc-solar-observer-am-fm-weather-windup-emergency-radio/

All the bands but it also has the wind up hand generator built in.

If a disaster ever hits where I live I'll be able to radio in my forum posts via shortwave.

I remember when I finally ordered my C Crane radio, lol. I ran across it just a little while ago packed away.

I ordered one of the "select-a-tenna" antenna boosters from them once. Biggest waste of money ever. I still have it, but as I don't listen to AM radio anymore, it just sits there collecting dust. Thankfully it was on sale (it was one of their "orphans").

There used to be a website that would broadcast all of his shows on a 24 hour loop (maybe it was here that I learned about it? I don't remember now...maybe it was even you who told me?)

Or Dr. Demento.

Whenever I listened to Bell, he would invariably be unraveling spontaneous combustion theories and sightings, etc..

No, no, no......that’s Limbaugh, Carlson and Hannity........but I can see how you’re confused.....

He was fun to listen to, even when he was going a little nutter with his topics. But when he started to turn political, it killed the fun of his show.

As Sly said, he could make almost any interview (no matter how nutty) interesting, whereas George Snoory did the exact opposite.

I believe he pushed the BayGen Freeplays, as well. I know BLAZER PROPHET bought one back in the day.

Phil Hendrie schtickaroonie was absolutely hilarious. Callers would get so worked up and it was some of the funniest shit I have ever heard on radio
