Only three Blazers have been with the team for more than one season

Thank god. Half the team should have been tossed off Blazer One mid-flight last season.

3 starters (and the ROY as the 4th)?

Olshey seems to be using the Pete Carroll/John Schneider plan for talent acquisition.

This team has been shit for 3 years. You know what pisses me off?

Anyone? I'll give you plenty of time to guess.

That's right. After Juwan Howard saved our ass the year Pritchard didn't get a backup for Oden and Przybilla, Howard was unceremoniously booted from the team. He then played 3 years for Miami. Suddenly they made the Finals all 3 years, winning the Championship twice. Think of what he could have done for us.

Well, it's too late to try to sign him now. The Heat value him so much, that to keep him from escaping to another team, they announced today that he's their new assistant coach. They'll break him in for a year and then it's back to the film projector for Spoelstra.

I like apples. Not turtles.

And get this. Last season, Freeland made $2.898M while Howard made only $1.352M. That's a ratio of 2 1/7 to 1. I know what you're thinking. 7 Howards are better than 15 Freelands. But it was the inverse. A team of 7 Freelands made as much as a team of 15 Howards. That's even more mind-boggling.

I'm about to pull a PapaG so I'd better rest my heart.

Fine, I'll bite. Howard wanted to stay around so much that, before even talking to the Blazers, he "pushed" to sign a one-year, minimum contract with the Heat to go ring-shopping.
South Florida Sun Sentinel said:
Portland Trail Blazers forward Juwan Howard is the latest free agent to push for a seat aboard for the Miami Heat's 2010-11 ride with Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh.

Howard, who has been finalizing his minimum-scale deal with Heat President Pat Riley, is in the midst of sorting out last details before joining the team.

"Juwan wants to get a ring and he has great respect for Coach Riley," agent David Falk told the Sun Sentinel Tuesday "We've talked to the Heat. There's a mutual interest. That's all I feel comfortable saying at this point."

And he's been so effective that he's played only 241 more minutes than you or Greg Oden have in the last 2 years.
