Open Roster Spot Predictions

OK, OK , I've got a cold and I'm bored, possibly too much medication, but how about this guy?
I'm thinking the sweat and B.O. factor could make him dominant.
He's a Reno Bighorn D-Leaguer.

Nate has always intrigued me, but the fact that he's cast away so often says something. I respect Blake and what he brings, but we need to upgrade that position soon. He can't really penetrate and his 3pt shot has been sub par. He should really be 3rd string insurance at this point in his career.

There will be zero minutes for the 15th roster spot and little cash to pay a vet...get a project rookie or give Sly a towel

The organization could save some bucks by making the DNP guy in a suit be Blaze every game.

Stephon Marbury.

Aaron Craft?
Believe it or not, Elliot Williams is averaging 7+ APG in the D-League...

If he comes cheap (And I think he would) I wouldn't mind trying to bring back Andre Miller in the off season. I do believe he'll be a free agent while Steve Blake has a player option.

I love Miller but I think this is the final year that you will see him be even decent.

Do you really think Blake would opt out? Where's he gonna get more money and/or be the most comfortable?

Didn't Blake literally just say he was going to opt into his player option and stay anyway?

Blake doesn't have any intention of leaving (he didn't either other time either). Unless we make him go away he is never going away! Haha.

What I was going to say.

No reason to fill the roster spot until we need to, or have someone too good to pass up.
No reason not to. The deadline for having players on your roster be playoff eligible is any day. I personally would feel a lot more comfortable with a #3 PG on the roster that would at least be eligible to play in the playoffs if needed.

Definitely I want to get that spot filled for the playoffs.

I'm not the CBA guy, but I "think" the trigger is a player has to be waived by a certain date to be playoff eligible, not that he has to be signed by that date?

Legal Beagles?

Any player we bring in is going to have to spend extra time with the coaches learning our systems. Do we want the coaches and players spending time teaching the 15th man or would the team be better served focusing on the top 14 players already on the depth chart? It may be a minor factor but now we have players getting DNP at every position so there is really no need to bring anyone in. Some people might say 3rd string PG but I'd rather just roll with CJ in the spot for 10mpg if the need arises and let Batum setup the offense too.

I was on the bring in a 15th player and make him a PG bandwagon but now that CJ isn't playing I agree with above. I would rather play CJ at PG (even though it isn't his best position) then have another guy in a suit and tie sitting on the end of the bench.

I don't think that there's a deadline to sign a player and have them be playoff eligible, other than the mid-April deadline for signing a contract. March 1st is the last day that a player can be waived and still be playoff-eligible if he signs with a new team.

It seems to me that keeping the slot open is wise. That way, if a player goes down with a season-ending injury there's a slot available to pick up a player at that position.
