Well, that's a rather convoluted thread title...
Here's the deal, I recently moved into a new place, that's much bigger and nicer than my old place. It has a large loft area (21' x 16') that is the center (master suite at one end, other two bedrooms at the opposite end) of the second floor. It's a very nice, open space and I've found I spend the majority of my time there. In fact, at this point, I hardly use my downstairs living room. I've move my larger TV up stairs and mounted it on the wall a couple days ago, and ordered some new furniture yesterday.
And, now I'm trying to decide what to hang on the walls. I happen to have a large, hand-signed serigraph of Leroy Neiman's "The Stags Head, Dublin Bar". Here's what it looks like:
It's a large print (mounted size 38"x28") with a rather subdued palette and an unfinished, almost primitive character - not nearly as garish and "bold" as Neiman's more well known pieces. The size is very appropriate to the space and it could be hung in a couple different places.
And while this is the area where I watch sports, I also spend time with my girlfriend and kids there watching movies, etc. So, it's not a total man cave.
I bought this print 19 years ago, but never really had an appropriate place to display it. Now that Nieman has passed away, the value is currently in the $400.00 range, and likely to continue to appreciate.
So, what are your opinions? Hang it, or sell it and get something else?
