Oregon 6A Football Championship: Tualatin Timberwolves vs. Aloha Warriors

I can't even fathom Aloha playing for a football championship.

It is kind of weird. They rush for 322 yards a game with a fast QB and the fastest player in Oregon and one of the fastest sophomores in the nation at RB. They also have a 6'7" 275 pound defensive end that is a top recruit for UO.

Thomas Tyner (that sophomore RB) 1 yard TD run to put Aloha on top 7-0.

Tyner has verbal offers from Oregon and Oregon State already, he's only a sophomore. He's 6' 200 pounds and runs a 4.38 40 yard dash.

Tualatin QB Yarbrough throws an interception for a touchdown. Aloha up 14-0.

VG, why didn't you go to the game?

osaa.tv has the best internet live feed for this game I've viewed for any level of sport. It's actually like watching TV, and no glitches.

It tells me it can only be viewed after the game is over.

My buddy refs high school football games in the Portland area. He says the Soph RB for Aloha is an absolute beast and his body is already college ready as just a Soph.

Yeah, this is him as a freshman:

BTW, its 24-7 now.

Damn. That kid is a specimen. He's going to shatter Portland area high school rushing records. Is he listing any schools yet?

Oh shit Tualatin scores 2 TDs within 30 seconds of each other. 24-13!

Tyner has verbal offers from UO and OSU and rivals says he also has interest from Boise State and UCLA. I'd assume the interest will take a step up next year. He'd be perfect for Oregon's offense.

I wonder why Tualatin didn't go for two after that first TD? Anyhow, I was thinking about taking my family to the game, as a bunch of the kids from our neighborhood went, but decided not to because of the rain.

Yeah the rain was one of the reasons I didn't go. They have missed a good amount of PAT kicks this year, they should go for two.

Man, Tyner is a workhorse. I think he has about 160 yards on 23 carries or so.

My wife and I lived in Aloha for 5 years. We moved to Tualatin when we had our youngest daughter. I'm happy for Aloha, because in terms of suburbs, Aloha is definitely the most blue-collar (and poorest) on the West Side in general. Had we stayed there, my kids would have gone to Beaverton elementary and middle schools, but Aloha for HS. It's weird, because Aloha was SOOOOO bad when we lived there, even when they had Nic Costa playing QB.

As long as I can remember, Aloha was always bad at everything. I'm happy for Aloha too, because it shows smaller (or poorer) suburban areas can have success in sports.

I graduated from Glencoe in 93. I've never known anything but horrible Aloha sports. I would tend to agree, good for them. Strange. But good for them.

I remember all the good ol' Aloha chants.

We got guys, that can play, you got guys, that pull hay!

Hey I'm really good friends with Tyner's dad. He has two kids on the team. Both kids could have gone to Jesuit (along with usher(SP?) ) but they stayed and played at Aloha.

WESTSIDE!
