you probably haven’t needed to buy corn for decades.

Being so aware of the corn side of things, you have very obviously toured wastewater treatment plants before..........bits of color in an other wise earth toned stream...........

I wonder how constipated someone would have to be to make poo-corn diamonds?

Oh Gawd, please don’t tell me you’re a civil….or even an uncivil….engineer. Wastewater treatment survives despite them……pirates are so much more respectable.

I'm thinking if you take a dump everyday on a Florida beach by the time you get back you'll have effectively bumped Oregon off the countries worst shitty beaches putting Florida smack in the lead until the next hurricane flushes it away

Longer than most folks think. I snorkled all over the pacific rim and it's sad how much pollution is in the ocean...we've been killing the coral reefs for many decades. For the most part the beaches are clean...it's the water that's often not or the ocean floor..I think Hawaii has the cleanest water I've snorkeled in and it's the furthest from any major continents. In many poor countries you could pay any sailor with a raft to dump anything you want in the ocean for 50 bucks or so. I've seen medical waste bags covering coral reefs before.
Okinawa in the mid-90s was pretty pristine. Then again, some interesting currents in that part of the ocean, so maybe...

I had my honeymoon there in 89...I never snorkeled there though. Very clean island all in all ..I've been there several times. First time was 72

OMG, I’ve been helping Oregon out without even realizing it!

Today is an absolute first! The very first time I have ever heard “Okinawa” and “honeymoon” used in any circumstances!
We stayed in an old 50s era hotel on the Koza side of the island...didn't stay in Naha at all...hiked through the Guokusendo caves and did a lot of walking and sushi. The Hell's angels were touring the island when we were there strangely so there were Harley's everywhere. With the Navy gone from Whitebeach it's really beautiful on the eastern coast.
