Any of you nerds ever been to the OCF down near Eugene each July? @riverman, I bet you have been there! Maybe you @Lanny? I had a pal, bless his memory, who had a booth there. So I spent several summers at the Fair helping him.

It was a blast, for a while. Very unique, peaceful, colorful, groovy. The midnight show was a a gas. Great food, sweet people, good music. Daily mild nudity. Definitely some magic. Lots of organic tchotchkes.

After a couple of years though, it got old. Same crap, different path. Very hot, crowded, and dusty on Saturdays. The best part was after hours, after the Fair closed to the public. That was awesome.

Fun, a good memory, but no more. I have a friend who has gone there for over 30 years. Not sure how....

______

One of the highlights: Tom Notti - "The Bubble Man." Notice he created a square bubble in the middle of his other bubbles!

Never been there. If it was in operation in the early 70s and if I'd known about it then I would have gone. My adventurer days are well behind me. Now, adventure to me is sitting on my front porch drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, incessant swearing and giving school children the finger as they pass by on their way home from school. God, it's good to be back home. All this is done while wearing a sweaty beer stained undershirt and ragged work pants and beat up old boots, also a six day old beard. Pretty picture? I agree.

Looks like fun...My wife and I went to pickathon a number of times and enjoyed it.
Very expensive tough and the food was crazy expensive.

I went to it in the 70's several times when it was called the Renaissance Fair. Sould have been called 'Look-at-all-the-topless-women' Fair

one time, Ken Kesey was there and he was leading a big crowd in hyperventilating....it was better if everybody had a joint for that final big inhale-and-hold at the end. I didn't participate but it sure was culturally interesting to watch. And of course, topless women aggressively hyperventilating was worth the price of admission in my view

I went there in the 70s several years and the Rennaissance Fair days too....quit going about 6 years ago...my son worked there from jr high through high school at the seafood booth..had a camp pass...I think it was ruined when they started kicking the public out so early...fun if you worked there but no fun if you didn't have a night pass. I usually listen to the main stage on the radio out of Eugene...from my deck. Last time I went I waited in a long dusty line for some Thai food...got it...sat down on a log to eat it and some hippy sneezed all over my food....dumped it in the recycling and went home....haven't been back since....the topless women there were all good looking in 1977 but now they're my age. We're not fooling anybody in our senior years
