Looking at the dog, I'm willing to bet someone thought it was a wolf and shot it.
Laws stop people from doing thingsIt's illegal to shoot wolves.
Still doesn't make it right.Laws stop people from doing things

I'll tell you what I'd do, I'd know the difference between a wolf and a small dog.I doubt we'll ever find out what happened, but I can think of a scenario where the dog gets shot and it's nobodies fault.
Imagine you're a hiker and you're out in the woods and you see what looks like a wolf running towards you, what do you do?
That dog legit looks like a wolf or a coyote. Would you take the risk that it's friendly if it ran towards you? And I'm sure the dog was just happy to see someone so it probably had no concept of being afraid that someone would hurt it.
Of course, it could have just been some shitty person who shot at it for kicks. That's totally possible. There are shitty people out there. But I also think there's a scenario where the whole thing was an accident.

Some people just don't like animals including pets. They're all over the country.
He ate his leg bones. Not his ass bones.Dr. Ost also made a discovery that hints at a gruesome experience for Hatcher. Bones were found inside his digestive system.
"We suspect that these are the lower part of his leg, so he probably chewed off what was remaining of the leg and ate it," Dr. Ost said. "It was probably hanging there by a little bit and at that point it doesn't have any sensation and he hadn't eaten in two weeks. So, he took care of it."
Wow, self-cannibalism! Definitely made for TV movie material. Coming soon to Netflix: Alive II, the real life story of Hatcher the wonder dog, starring @SlyPokerDog in the role he was born to play.

I'm not gonna speak for you but I could.Really? You would be able to tell that this is a dog if it was suddenly coming towards you out in the middle of the woods?

You're taking the high road. I wish I could go that route but I've known too many people who get twisted enjoyment from torturing small animals.I'm not really a shoot-first person either, but I'm just saying I could see a scenario where someone could make the mistake. I want to hope that the person didn't deliberately shoot a dog.
