As much as people hate on kitzhaber, and the fuck up where he thought with the wrong head, he was damn good at working the aisles and getting both sides to work together.

Portland was clean for about 20 years. But historically, we've been a dump.

Oh! julius my man. Oregon was a grand example of a clean and proper environment in my youth. Down town Portland was
very proper, clean and nice. I worked there in those days, hoofing it about on my daily chores. Ha! Actually I was the Operating System Wizard of the day. Yeah, Big OS it was called. Used by Georgia Pacific, Army Corps of Engineers, the Banks, Consolidated Freight, UHaul, PP&L. Probably forgot some, but I do remember the clean congenial city of Portland in my Youth. Last month was a
real eye opener on just how far this city has fallen since it was my space. Sixth avenue is a disgrace! It is owned by Max but no one is on the train going down to where no one in their right mind will go. The only reason to go down there is to get on the AMTRAK to get out of town.

Really sad, very very sad.

How old are you? I don't think you can remember when it was a grand place.
Please don't don't compare it places like San Francisco. I can remember when that was decent too, but never like Portland.
Now Portland can't compare with what was San Fransisco. Christ, I spent last fall there, what a shit hole.
But walk down upper Sixth avenue to the train station will open you eyes, perhaps your mind too. It is disgusting.

Which is hilarious because this place has been a liberal mecca for decades and yet our education system is utter trash. How can that be!?!
