It looks like the beavers picked up a decent WR Obum Gwacham with hops.
Gwacham also had offers from Idaho State, Sacramento State and Montana State. Prior to this season USC and Oregon coaches, among others, visited Ayala to express interest in Gwacham but communication dwindled during the season with not only those two schools, but Boise State and UNLV too.

Heres more information on the guy ; where the quote came from.

It also looks like the Beavers might get Markus Wheaton cousin of Ducks Kenny Wheaton's (TD return against Washington in 1994)(http://myespn.go.com/blogs/pac10).

Looks pretty interesting. Hope he develops...nice to add another weapon to the core. I'm glad I became a Beaver fan right as they started getting good again.

I would imagine OSU will be in the top 4 this upcoming year in the pac-10 conference. We will know in the next few months who else they will sign. This program has done a complete turnaround in the past 5+ years.

Actually about 8 years ago is when things really started turning around.

he had 17 receptions for his career? maybe it's another diamond in the rough they keep finding.

Actually only 13 receptions for his entire varsity career. He missed his entire junior season, and they only completed 62 passes on offense this entire last year...they just don't throw. But he certainly has the body and hops to become a red-zone nightmare. Just throw the ball up there and he should be able to beat most (all?) of those 5'11" cornerbacks.

I grew up in an era where both Oregon schools were the laughing stock of the Pac-8/10. It's nice to see both the Ducks and the Beavers get quality recruits.

I agree that both schools are doing well and that the Washington schools are the bottom feeders right now. However Oregon just lost a top recruit because the recruiter wanted to play closer to home and picked University of Arizona.

I'm so geeky about this stuff that for the past 3 or 4 years, I print out the scout/rivals commit list in the morning and cross names off as the faxes arrive. It's good stuff to see the names come off the list -- especially given the higher quality compared to 10 years ago. That said, I also like to flip back a few years to see how many of our good players have kicked sand in the faces of the schmucks who assign stars. James Rodgers a two star? Right.
