...Ortiz; does this latest denial change anyone's mind?

...I found it humorous that he claimed that the secret to his success as a hitter was not through PEDs, but instead, he says he made himself into what he is through hard work, watching film and because of his intelligence and mental preparation.
...anyone else find it odd that he somehow did not use the very same approach to also make himself into a great fielding 1Bman?... he was a butcher with the glove.

Or a great hitter while he was with the Twins

The old never knowingly took anything defense. Yeah it was just vitamins.

Well, the reassuring thing to me is that the other piece of that dynamic duo he had, Manny, only started taking PEDs after he left Boston. Had he been caught in Boston I might have had my doubts about Papi. Seriously, who buys what this whiny punk says? Go smash a clubhouse phone, complain to an official scorer, tell us how the league is ruining it for you batters, etc. When does this guy start doing anything with class?

It's shamefully an early campaign for the HOF.

Tired of his self appraisal. He believes he's
a HOF! Yeah. In the world of PEDs. Players
who are so full of themselves (literal and
anatomical) spew BS just to appear favorable;
he has this need to be liked. Unfortunately,
the more he talks, the more he is a pitiful
person.

When all else fails, deny, deny, deny. And if that doesn't work, deny some more.

...I still wonder ever happened to his pledge to "get to the bottom" of how his name appeared on "the list"....well Papi, we're still waiting.

Honestly I thought Manny was juicing long before he left Boston?

Shrek, is a bigger POS, than A-Roid at times, the most despised ass wipe, gloated, arrogant fk, who doesn't deserve to even buy a ticket to see those Hallowed Halls, not even as a tourist, its way too beyond his child like mentality.......

^ lol, if referring to my post I was being sarcastic. Both of those clowns were clearly juicing up in the Boston clubhouse. Somebody should chart Papi's increasing hat size over the years. He's an absolute fraud.

Sorry for letting your post fly right over my head, bbbern.........^^^...

You got me, on that one.......I'll pay more attention next time, or finish my coffee before posting, nah, that won't help either, .......... punt......!

...as far as DHs in the HOF, IMO, Edgar Martinez should get the nod before Ortiz.

OH Yeah, Edgar WAS the Greatest DH IMO, and Statistically too, needless to say Edgar was the one and only batter you wanted to see (or did not as the opposing team, ala that fkd up 95 ALDS game - 5)....coming up to bat, in a pinch situation, with the wining or tying run on base, RISP. Shrek, fk him, Edgar had a much better DH Career.....!

...yup, Edgar absolutely killed the Yanx.

...yup,

Edgar ; .312 .418 .515 .933

Ortiz ; .285 .379 .547 .926 (and Fenway helped)

No Contest, not even close, and a great point as you said: Shrek had the benefit of playing with the short porch and Green Monster, which raises most hitters batting averages. Shrek, wasn't worth a shit in Minnesota either. Edgar displayed his magic in all ball parks......

The guy you want to see with RISP come to bat, or leading off any inning Edgar's B'Avg was .333- .334

.423 career vs Yanks with OPS well over .900

And the one thing which has always puzzled me concerning Ortiz killing the Yankees is he has managed to have only 3 career HBP vs the Yanks.
I guess it's a case of both being well liked and Yankee pitchers not pitching "inside" more often. lol
It pays to be a nice, smiley, jovial fellow as you bang around the opposition.
Ortiz has only 36 HBP in his career!

For perspective, the "famous" hitter (we know who) penalized for using PEDS has 169 career HBP. lol

No doubt, the boy is a Whiner, Cry Baby, but moreso- a LIAR, a lying sack of shit at that.......

Shrek is trying to use the: There picking on me defense::smiley-bigcry::smiley-bigcry:

I never knew til recently one of Edgar's Team Mat e Nicknames was; believe it or not, Papi.......fk if he knew Shrek would be called the same, he'd of put an end to it prior to Shrek ever being a big leaguer.....

Good article.
Amphetamines were mentioned.
Yep, nothing like a couple of Greenies to put some pep in your step especially during those "for days" and following a night game.

Greenies, imo- the most common, oldest, overlooked, taken for granted, underrated and effective "performance" drug in baseball which we can easily trace back to the 1960's (or earlier?) when those nice clean great players were putting up numbers.
But of course innocent until proven guilty.

And amphetamines WILL help put pep in you step when some other guys are naturally dragging and lagging a bit.

Hank Aaron admitted to taking one amphetamine, yet he said it was in a coffee pot spiked. The pot with a bit of extra get up juice always had a X on it.

Hank admitted he was very tired during a game, drank a cup of the X coffee and stayed awake to see the sunrise.....

that had to be the 60s. Yet, amphetamines were widely used in the 50s as well....

as most know Hitler commissioned his chemist to create a drug which would keep his soldiers awake, thru countless days.......it wasn't soon after the War when his chemical romance made it to the States..........

Yep. Greenies! Have flown under the radar regarding the "old days" of MLB.
Good info on the pep pills.

Don't be surprised if some of our guys were using them.
And I think it's safe to say some German scientists helped with the U.S. rocket/space program.

Heroin was made by Bayer, the German company.
