Not uncommon for someone in for 5 on manslaughter to by out on prob in under a year......especially in CA.
This doesn't surprise me in the least. As for the victim.....she knew him and who he was. She chose to put herself in that position.
The rest is tragic.
It is a tragedy, and yes, California is perhaps worst in the Nation. What blows my mind, is the Gov's, have been saying for decades, (along with PD Chiefs, and Sherrif's): Overcrowding, is creating a condition of early release.
Last time I drove to AZ, there is still a 240 mile wide area, approx. 600 miles North to South, of pure unadulterated barren ass Calif. Desert, the perfect place to build a Golgotha of prisons. Then the Gov. Say we lack the funds to build prisons....WTF, either take care of the problem or step down.....
This is how and where Prisons are built in AZ, like the one just around Gila Bend. Only 1 man & his 2 sons ever escaped that hell hole, only to kill a family of a father/mother, and 2 innocent kids. Their car was stolen, when they stopped for the felons, and were slain.........
Needless to say, the kids/boys were apprehended, one came peacefully, the other full of lead............as for the Dad, he was found in Organ Pipe Natl. Monument, where he had been hiding in a a cave with NO WATER, and had been dead a week, when they found his lame ass......
