OT: As I suspected

Harden has never really started (7 times out of 220 regular season games) nor has he averaged more than 31.4 mpg in a season. He's had one season over a PER of 16.4.

According to S2 rules, that means he's overrated, and GMs are stupid dumb-dumbs for thinking he's better than Westbrook, who has averaged 34.2 over his 4 year career, and has a 22+ and 23+ PER the past two seasons.

I think Westbrook is the better talent, and is a rare and unique NBA player. 6th-men who don't start are shiny I guess.

His rather mediocre PER is surprising.

He has that Manu-like impact off the bench.

Yeah. Seeing what he'd do as the focal point of a defense without two of the NBA's top 5 scorers playing in front of him is a risk though, IMO.

Do coaches go into a game saying "let's just don't let James Harden beat us, and we'll be OK if Durant and Westbrook go for 30 each on us"?

I doubt it.

Please get out of my thread.

kthanx.

Harden's 22 years old and just had his first of many 20 PER seasons. The guy is unstoppable off the dribble. He had a higher WS/per 48 than Durant and Westbrook during the regular season. His WS in these playoffs is 2.0, compared to Westbrook's 1.7, despite playing 30 mpg to Westbrook's 36.3 mpg.

The numbers don't lie.

Those damn execs are just fools! Its the message board dad's that know best!

Russell Westbrook is 23 and has had two straight years of 22+ PER while playing elite defense as a PG (3rd team All-Defensive this year).

He has a 25 PER in the playoffs thus far while averaging 35+ mpg. Harden has a 25 PER in the playoffs averaging 30 mpg.

NBA GMs are stupid, IMO.

well, to be fair it said for financial reasons, and westbrook is gonna make 9 million more than harden next year

KD was average by himself, westbrook was average without harden, and harden would be crap without the other two, therefore, they ALL suck

science

If they start they're not a 6th man.

Gee, really? I mean, he's a 6th man who almost never starts. Ginobli won a 6th man award while starting 23 games out of the 77 he played in 2007-08.

Harden has started 7 games total in three season. He started 2 games this season, when he won the 6th man award.

He's not a starter, and has never been a starter.

That's a good point. Was the question who would you rather have 3 years from now, on similar contracts?

i would guess the majority of the people voting for harden thought "westbrook doesnt get along with kd"

it has become a sort of pretend truth

Harden is really fukkin good too, though.

Seems like a media controversy that someone would use as a wedge issue.

James Harden's debut with the Rockets:

37pts, 12ast, 6 rebs and 4 stls.
