32 points, 9 assists, 4 boards in the Bucks win over Denver. Impressive. Most impressive. Their reasons for letting Sessions go is becoming more and more obvious.
 
The Bucks seem to have a PG friendly system. Sessions looks pretty awful in Minnesota.
 
Good for him. And good for the Bucks, it's about time something went their way.
 
If you get the former prep player of the year, you're pretty likely to be getting a good fucking player. As soon as McRoberts figures out that he should be good, too, he's gonna be challenging for the all-star game. :)

It just makes you wonder why he slipped as far as he did. Dude was drafted 10th.

I would put Jennings above Flynn, Thabeet, Jordan Hill, and DeRozan. I'm not sure yet if I would take him over Rubio with the whole contract thing, and Tyreke Evans is looking pretty solid too. I haven't seen enough of James Harden to make the call there either.
 
He slipped because people saw the Euro stats and him on the bench and saw bust (see Knicks)
 
Donnie Walsh has been a big bust in their last few drafts.. Jordan Hill isn't getting any burn, and there were a lot better prospects than Gallinari on the board.
 
I really thought that the Blazers should have been trying to move up in the draft to get either Jennings or Lawson. I read up on Jennings and couldn't find anything bad personality-wise. They both went in a range where it seems we should have been able to trade up without giving a lot.

I agree we are trying to move up. Why else would we be asking guys at the top of the draft to work out? Aso, hoopsworld had a quote from an unnamed NBA executive that Portland was trying to trade up.

It seems that our biggest need is PG, and also seems the most difficult position to fill by trade or free agency (maybe KP doesn't really like Sessions that much). Since we already have PG prospects like Bayless and Koponnen, I think that KP would be trying to move way up, maybe Rubio. Another possibility that Fez recently brought up is Brandon Jennings. I have been reading up on him and he actually seems to have a great attitude since he went to Europe (has become much more team oriented and is apparently hardworking and very coachable. Combined with his youth, tremendous speed and reputed very good court vision; could he be the guy we are targeting? His draft stock has fallen, I guess because of his poor shooting in the Euroleague; possibly I also read he decided not to participate in a Reebok Eurocamp, Draftexpress has him at #13 or #14 now.

Obviously neither of those guys would be ready to run a team so either we would have to go with Blake while they were developing or try to get Sessions or Miller. But if KP thinks either is gonna be a star in a couple years, maybe that is the plan.
 
During the draft I wanted Jennings. I made my case over on Club Blazers. I didn't care about the Euro stats. He could score and dish. If it weren't for his stint in Italy he could have been in contention for a top-3 selection.

He's Alan Iverson. I just hope he doesn't have an ego problem like A.I.

there were a couple other pre-draft threads on him I participated in, but basically his on court talents seemed pretty obvious to me. He's got Allen Iverson type quickness and size but a pass first PG mentality. He also seems a bit obnoxious so maybe thats part of why teams passed on him?

Honestly the first I ever saw of him was the summer league. I think there's a good chance he will end up one of the two or three players that stand out from this draft.
 
I remember watching him as a HS senior and thinking he was going to be good but thought he was too skinny to be good as a rookie...I also left the tournament thinking he was much better than Tyreke Evans and Jrue Holliday. He shot the lights out and ran his squad incredibly well.

A little quick to write off his drafts as bad? Jordan Hill isn't getting any burn because his game isn't polished yet. He's a great athlete, but is just very young. Gallinari has looked good. He's young and just came off an energy. He'll be a great offensive player for years.
 
bump...he has 39 points in 3 quarters, 4 rebs, 3 assists, and only 1 turnover......oh ya he had 29 points in the third
 
I switched over to this game after the Blazers' one.

Holy shit. Jennings is amazing. 29pts in the third quarter. 43 for the game, with 6 minutes left.

I called this guy the third best player in the draft (behind Rubio and Griffin). I might be right. :devilwink:
 
NBATV cut to that game for a few minutes and he only took one shot and was called for a charge I was expecting him to be super aggressive when I heard he was over 40 already. They cut away again, so I'm not sure how he's doing now
 
Now he has 50? Whats the record for a rookie?

Nevermind my last post. He must have started looking for his shot again once they stopped showing cause he's over 50 now...in his 9th effing game in the league.
