OT - Cavs' Omri Casspi requests trade

I'd trade Luke for him in a heartbeat. Or if they want, even Nolan. Then they can resurrect that Duke PG combo.

What exactly does Casspi do well? He's like a poor man's Claver.

Neither of the players in that deal worked out well for either acquiring team. It'd only be fitting for us to get Casspi for nothing (i.e. Nolan Smith) and for him to blow up.

He averaged 10/5 in limited minutes as a rookie with decent %'s from both 2 and 3. He's a far more capable bench player than Sasha, Barton, et al., He struggled in CLE for some reason, but I always liked him (thought we were actually gonna draft him instead of Vic in 09).

Isn't he the Israeli sharpshooter?

When did casspi become a poor mans claver?

Claver has a 4ish per, cassi has a 12ish per.... I didnt know a guy who has a per three times higher than another player can be considered a poor mans version of the guy with the 4 per

His people killed Jesus.

"Sure, we'll take Casspi, but we want Varejao too. However, we'll give you super-athletic true 7-footer from Big-10 country--on a rookie deal for four more years, a guy who nearly led the leage in 3-point percentage last year, and an Olympian. Plus, we'll throw in a former teammate (mentor?) of your star point-guard."

A guy can dream, can't he?

Yes he can but me might want to wake up before he creams himself.

Would Nolan and claver work? Im on my phone and it takes too long to look up salaries on the phone

Would open a roster spot to sign someone else too

If PDX managed to pull off that trade; I would be calling for Oshley to be the GM of the century

Agree that Cleveland has little use for them. My thoughts were they decide they want claver (better than a disgruntled player who wants to leave) as a prospect on a cheap contract for the next couple years.

I wish Dan Gilbert were a cheapskate, so he could be sold on how much money a deal like that would save him.

Doesn't need both of them to work. One of either Nolan or Claver would get it done, since we have cap space to absorb most of Casspi's salary.

Can he play any D? From what i remember he is a better three point shooter than Claver, but not as good of a defender, passer, or rebounder. We have Luke as our designated 3pt specialist off the bench. We need defenders. I know he runs the floor well and can finish, but a mid range game would be nice.

I would be happy with someone that likes to attack the basket. Does he expire this year as well?

I think Victor has the ability to attack the basket. His problem is he has not finished on enough of them. As long as continues to improve I say keep him. Good BB IQ

Have you noticed that anyone who crosses Sergio comes to a miserable end?

Every guard who ever took minutes from Sergio saw his career spiral downward afterward--Roy, Tyreke, Blake, even Andre Miller, who came later.

Then this rookie Omri Casspi (sounds like the Devil manifested in the form of a hissing snake) tries to get some minutes at SG, just enough to harm Sergio while he's there. Click on the PER column heading.

Sergio was 3rd best, so why did Snake get the minutes? Then the aloof Maloofs and their Whitsitt wannabe Geoff Petrie, after trading the Israeli for Hickson, draft the Jimmer, shedding the Jew for a Mormon. I hear Petrie is scouting the Scientology schools now.
