Saw this and I'm sure Rob will find this interesting. But my question is....how long before we see a self-guided baseball? You have to think that at some point, some academic engineering team will develop a version of this for a pitched baseball. It could be a very interesting training tool to teach strike zone awareness, break pitch recognition, etc.

no more control problems....now if we could just adapt a mini-rocket to the ball along with DARPA...
Good stuff Tom, your aware Teledyne is a subsidiary of Northrop...right? Now if we could adapt our hobby crafts, to DARPA, so I could target Cashman in the ass, here from the Mojave, we'd be doing good.

How about placing a DARPA unit on your V2 and loaning it to me for a weekend, I promise I will give it back unfired.....hehehe....well in one piece, ie.

I always felt with the tech already available, we could frame the K-Zone, and foul poles, with Laser or other techs, we could off most umpires, could do the same with bases/bags, to KNOW moreso than IR, if a runner beats a throw. The tag at 2nd, I'd have to think about.

However, with DARPA Baseballs, we could maybe implant one, and hope its not programmed at the Umps Nuts, the Mgr. in the dugout, or the Homer radio jerks, oops just a little to high, 50 feet off target. No one would know better. But WE CANNOT LET ANYONE KNOW WE HAVE THIS TSAR TECHNOLOGY.....!

Thanks for sharing Tom, I eat this stuff for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner....!
