I have arranged a charter out of Newport on Friday, March 15. It's a 1/2 day bottom fishing trip with a reputable charter co. Cost is $70 for the 1/2 day trip and they provide all the gear.

The guest list so far includes Mags, SPD, Lanny (of O-Live fame), myself and some friends and family. If you want to beat the crap out of any of us, here is your chance.

We got blown out Friday. Fairly high winds Thursday PM and 7-9 ft swell Friday AM in conjunction with a morning ebb tide made for some rough conditions. We could have gone but it would have been scary and uncomfortable.

My wife and son and I stayed in Newport all weeked and, of course, the weather got calm Saturday, so we fished a 1/2 day Sunday. Got ling cod limits, total of 6 plus 20 rockfish, 1 short of limit.

Road game fish fry Thursday night. Who's in?
