How in the world can you have 26 pts and 22 rebounds (10 offensive) and have a -14 +/- ?

I'm not sure what this means, but it either shows +/- is meaningless or other stats are (my thought).

Or it shows that if you have a great night, but the rest of your team plays like crap, then it doesn't matter...

forget the lakers....

our new rival is OKC.

Imagine if OKC was still in Seattle. The NW rivalry would be awesome again. Thanks, Howard, you fucking two-faced bastard. Now some city I will never visit unless I am forced to has a team in the NBA.

It looks like the difference is that CP looks to have rounded into form. We saw a shell of Paul when we played the Hornets.

Do the Lakers have any motivation from the standings to win right now?

Nope. The Lakers are on fuckin' coast mode. I hate it.

Gasol < Bynum.

I noticed that Paul did look 'round' on Saturday. Bloated with hardly any definition. Dude needs to mix in a salad once in a whle. I realize this was sorta gay.

Letting up at the end of the season is a dangerous move, especially in a very deep conference. If they end up with the Spurs and SA starts playing lawyerball again, the L*kers risk being upset if they're not in top form.

They should. They don't have HCA throughout the playoffs. I'm sure they're trying to get it.

I've never understood that trait about the Lakers. They did it during their 3 peat years, too.

I'm telling you right now, Cleveland worries me. Nobody in the west, though. We're not catching Cleveland for HCA throughout.

I think we will give you hell if we do end up playing each other.

I think the Lakers beat anybody in the west other than the Blazers in 5-6 games. If we played LA in the first round I think we lose in 7. Lebron is getting his ring this year though. He is going to take over in the post season.

I would hate to face them in the first round because I don't think the NBA is going to let LA lose in the first round. Second round? Maybe. Conf Finals? Should be a fair fight... maybe. Anyway, I would just love to get to the second round this year. Get our guys the experience. I think we have a good chance, no matter who we play. I love this team with Miller and Camby. We should be ready for anything.

Back to the original question of +/-. It's a 'noisy' statistic, in that there's a lot of slop in small samples, and most people that look at +/- as being meaningful usually concede that it needs at least a year's worth of game data (maybe two) to be truly meaningful.

As for Gasol's line, I didn't watch the game, so I can't tell you what made his raw plus-minus so poor, but I'm guessing that the his teammates were a hot plate of garbage.
